[UEH CONFERENCE 50] UEH Hosts the 8th Asian Conference on Business and Economic Studies (ACBES 2026)

Co-organized by the Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies (JABES) and UEH, ACBES 2026 brought together more than 180 authors, featuring 161 accepted research papers selected from 320 submissions by scholars from 29 countries and territories. The conference continues to affirm its attractiveness and prestige within the international academic community. As part of the activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of UEH, ACBES 2026 stands out as one of the University's flagship international academic events, contributing to strengthening UEH's research reputation and global collaboration network.
The conference attracted a large number of researchers, speakers, and members of the international academic community.
Throughout the two-day conference, research papers were presented across 56 parallel academic sessions, covering a wide range of key topics including economics, finance, management, innovation, artificial intelligence (AI), sustainable development, ESG, digital transformation, and international trade. These sessions fostered academic dialogue and promoted research ideas with strong practical relevance.

One of the highlights of ACBES 2026 was its series of keynote speeches featuring world-renowned scholars and editors-in-chief of leading international academic journals, including Prof. Esther Duflo, Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences 2019 (MIT), together with distinguished speakers such as Prof. Karen Macours (Paris School of Economics), Prof. Alminas Žaldokas (National University of Singapore), Prof. Hans Lööf (KTH Royal Institute of Technology), Assoc. Prof. Bin Wang (Monash University), Prof. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai (National Economics University), and many other international experts.
Professor Hans Lööf from KTH Royal Institute of Technology delivered the keynote presentation titled “STEM, Technological Competition, and Economic Transformation” during the conference's first keynote session.
In addition to the plenary sessions, the conference also organized a series of PhD Public Lectures, providing doctoral candidates and early-career researchers with opportunities to engage directly with professors and editors-in-chief of international journals on research methodologies, publication strategies, and academic career development. The conference also featured networking activities, collaboration sessions, and a Gala Dinner to strengthen connections among researchers from across the region and around the world.
The PhD Public Lectures offered in-depth perspectives on research methodologies, international publishing, and academic career development for doctoral candidates and early-career researchers.

Sharing his reflections on the conference series, Prof. Su Dinh Thanh, Chairman of the Science and Education Council, emphasized that as the world simultaneously faces profound technological, environmental, and institutional transformations, ACBES 2026 provides a platform for researchers across disciplines to exchange ideas, develop interdisciplinary approaches, and generate solutions with both scientific and practical significance. At the same time, JABES continues to serve as an important bridge connecting high-quality research from Asia with the global academic community.
The year 2026 marks a significant milestone as ACBES is held within the series of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of UEH. The conference continues to reaffirm UEH's role in advancing its research ecosystem, promoting internationalization, and enhancing the quality of scientific publications, thereby amplifying academic values from Vietnam and Asia to the global scientific community.
