UEH expanding the international cooperation network connecting to global integration

Not "sleeping" on the great achievements during the past 47 years, in the context of deepening global economic integration with many new opportunities and challenges, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has set orientations to catch up and accompany the common development of the world - that is the implementation of the internationalization strategy. Since pursuing this strategy for more than 20 years, UEH has constantly been improving its training programs, scientific research, international cooperation, quality accreditation, and participating in prestigious rankings in the world. This journey has so far attained many impressive achievements!

The common goals of international cooperation activities at UEH are to promote searching and expanding cooperation with international partners, contributing to training and fostering teaching staff, and associating training to receive transfer of educational technology from developed countries to help UEH improve teaching methods, improve training quality, standardize training programs closely to world standards, develop training disciplines and specialties and new subjects; exchange of lecturers and management staff to enhance mutual understanding, promote integration with a team of scientists around the world, collaborate on research on scientific topics and publish research findings; enhance student exchange to internationalize training programs and learning environment; towards increasing the ranking position of UEH on prestigious university rankings in the region and the world.

In 2022, UEH attained many proud achievements in expanding international cooperation. In particular, a notable milestone is that UEH officially achieved its strategic goal for the period of 2020-2030: increased 150 places and entered the top 401+ best universities in Asia according to the QS Asia Ranking 2023. This remarkable promotion is due to a uniform increase in the criteria of academic reputation, recruitment reputation, lecturer/student ratio, doctoral degree lecturers, international research network, citation/article ratio, article/lecturer ratio, international lecturers, international students, outgoing exchange students and returning exchange students. In addition, in 2022, UEH entered the top of the best universities in Vietnam according to the U-Multirank Ranking 2022 when leading all criteria and in the Top 66 best universities in Asia (among 467 universities included in the ranking).

Following the successes in 2015-2020 in terms of quality assurance and quality accreditation, in 2022 UEH was recognized for the results of accreditation of educational institutions and 05 training programs according to the quality accreditation standards. FIBAA (European) international quality undergraduate degrees include Business Administration, Marketing, Commercial Business, Real Estate, and Accounting.

In addition, diverse, multi-disciplinary and multi-field international conferences and seminars have also been organized by UEH in the past year such as: the 4th Asia Conference on Business and Economic Studies(ACBES 2022), International Conference on Business and Finance (ICBF 2022), the 10th International Conference on Emerging Challenges: Strategic Adaptation in the World Uncertainty (ICECH 2022), AAERE International Conference 2022 with the theme "A pathway towards Carbon Neutrality in Asia", a series of key activities Ready for Next 2022 with 04 international scientific conferences with 25 intensive seminars revolving around Sustainability, Technology, Design and Art; Workshop on “Innovation and Sustainable Entrepreneurship” within the framework of the Annual Conference of the ASEAN Learning Network (ALN) and welcoming the delegation of ALN from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Switzerland and Vietnamese member schools; More than 300 UEH students attended the conference “Development trends and the role of Management Accountants in the VUCA world”… These are activities to share and update economic, political and cultural knowledge to promote integration with advanced science in the world.

Besides, UEH also promotes typical international cooperation activities such as: Coordinate with the Ministry of Education and Training to organize a training conference on international cooperation in education at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; Strengthening extensive cooperation between ACCA and UEH in the ACCA international diploma integrated accounting training program; Signing a cooperation agreement between UEH and Portland State University; Signing a cooperation agreement with Kwangwoon University, Korea on the development of the City to City project; Signing cooperation agreement with the University of Queensland, Australia; Attending the closing meeting of the JEUL Erasmus+ project; In conjunction with the Australian Government Trade & Investment Authority (Austrade) to organize the Shine With Australia Event Month 2022;…; and welcoming high-ranking delegations, prestigious partners in the region and the world to visit and work such as Mr. Ahmed Aboutaleb Mayor of Rotterdam City (Netherlands); Australian Consulate General.

UEH International Day 2022 - a playground for international cultural exchange

Today's initial successes are valuable assets for UEH to maintain its pioneering position to become one of the leading autonomous public higher education institutions in developing international cooperation relationships in training and research. Entering a development phase with new opportunities and challenges, UEH needs to continue to set and implement strategic development goals for itself, as well as to be dynamic and flexible in choosing new directions, prioritize development, must innovate itself towards a pioneering model - the model of a Multidisciplinary and Sustainable public university with economic goals integrated to develop scientific knowledge, culture - art towards creating a more practical and effective resonance value for society. Additionally, the collective UEH must work together to improve the overall picture of the University's international cooperation, turning UEH into a multidisciplinary university with an academic reputation and sustainable action in Asia by 2030.
