UEH International Day 2022: Unbounded Creativity

01 Apr, 2022

UEH International Day 2022: Unbounded Creativity connected students and lecturers from diverse backgrounds and successfully introduced UEH University to the international community officially on March 26, 2022 at Campus Nguyen Van Linh.

Organized concurrently on the 91st anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, UEH International Day 2022: Unbounded Creativity is a part of the UEH Youth Festival 2022 and included a plethora of fun and educational activities, in hopes to further facilitate cultural exchange between local and international students, to celebrate differences while embracing appreciation towards multicultural values. Not to mention, International Day 2022 was also a way for UEH University to affirm and strengthen cooperation with our international partners.

Dubbed with the theme “Unbounded Creativity”, UEH International Day 2022 successfully attracted more than 3000 students, both from UEH and abroad, including those from Laos, Cambodia, Korea, Germany, Japan, etc., along with international lecturers and faculty members currently working at the university. The event also welcomed Mr. Kith Sothearith – Consul General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City, Professor Cinzia Grieco – Cultural Attaché of the Consulate General of Italy Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Christophe Legris – Attaché de Coopération pour le Français of the Consulate General of France in Ho Chi Minh City, and representatives from various UEH partners, including Campus France, NESO Vietnam, Queensland University of Technology (Australia), National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan), etc.

Deeply motivated to celebrate diverse cultures, UEH International Day 2022 was organized to host 3 main areas, including Cultural Tourism, Food Tour and International Joint Programs.

  • Cultural Tourism consisted of 6 booths from France, the Netherlands, Japan, Korea, Thailand and Taiwan. Here, students participated in various national games to help them further understand the respective traditional norms, while learning to recognize the delicacy that comes with each nation’s costume. Through this, students became more aware of each country’s geographic location, custom as well as learn more about notable festivals that their neighbors so often observe.

  • Next, to encourage a true sense of global citizenship spirit, Food Tour brought students to specially curated and catered foods from 10 different countries. In addition to trying out the actual dishes, the students also got to learn about each dish’s history as well as their food history and climate. To sum up, Food Tour is ideal for passionate foodies of the world.

  • Last but not least, the International Joint Programs area promised insightful tips and advice for students as they gain up close and personal access to advisors and representatives from some of UEH most esteemed partners. In particular, the event received attendance from International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam (ISS Erasmus); Victoria University of Wellington, Massey University, University of Auckland (New Zealand); Western Sydney University, Queensland University of Technology (Australia); CFVG programs, Université Rennes 1 (France); Handong Global University (Korea); Lincoln University, University of Aberdeen (UK); Hasselt University (Belgium), as well as representatives from various Consulate Offices like France & Campus France, Italy, Cambodia and more. What these programs will give students is an all-around immersive experience in a world-class international environment, where they’ll gain new knowledge and skills at an affordable cost as they strive towards becoming a future global citizen. With that, UEH University is extremely proud of the teaching and learning quality offered here, and we are eager to further contribute to the expansion of knowledge of the region and the world.

In addition, UEH International Day 2022 also came with Entertainment Zone, a space specifically designed for those who find joy in both arts and integrated technology, and are enthusiastic about filling their soul with the hearty tunes of music and sounds; the Technological Zone where hard-core techies could get their hands on the latest applications of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and a smart networking robot – all towards the aspirations to conquer new tech and go beyond their limits to become future global citizens; and various large-scale games and activities at Community Zone and Adventure Zone as well.

What’s new and unique about this year’s International Day is the debut of UEH’s virtual portal, connecting between Campus N and Vinh Long Branch. Two hearts but one beat, the portal and its profound meaning acted as a great reminder to the students that despite geographical boundaries, as long as we join hands in unison and practice empathetic listening, all will be swell.

Towards the development of future global citizens ready for sustainable development and armed with strong conviction to become a multidisciplinary university, UEH University commits to create a highly-integrated multicultural environment for both UEH students and the surrounding community. Though UEH International Day 2022 has come to a close, the event is certainly not the end as it has fortuitously paved the way for even stronger connections between students across cultures and nations, and promises to bring even more exciting ventures for students to join.
