UEH issues breakthrough incentive policy: Attracting and retaining talent, building international stature

According to Assoc.Prof. Bui Quang Hung, Interim President of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City:

“Aligned with Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on ‘Breakthroughs in the Development of Education and Training’ and the project ‘Elevating the Quality of the UEH Team - Top 250 Asia, 2025-2030’, this policy demonstrates UEH’s strong commitment to investing in people - the core intellectual asset that determines the quality of training and research, and serves as the foundation for strengthening competitiveness and upgrading the University’s international standing.”

Support of up to 500 million VND to attract talent

Accordingly, lecturers and scholars with high academic ranks and qualifications (Professors, Associate Professors, and PhDs) who apply and become UEH faculty members or staff will receive the following support:
●    Professor: 500 million VND/person
●    Associate Professor: 300 million VND/person
●    PhD: 150 million VND/person

The support amount is adjusted based on the remaining working time before retirement age, the difference between the new and previous attraction policies, and whether the personnel are full-time or under contract. In particular, the University places special emphasis on attracting talent to local campuses at UEH Mekong (UEH Branch in Vinh Long) and UEH Nexus, with support equal to or higher than the above levels, subject to certain specific adjustments.

Bonuses of up to 150 million VND for full-time lecturers and staff who proactively advance their academic rank or qualification

In addition to attracting new human resources, UEH has implemented an incentive policy for staff and employees who continuously strengthen their capabilities, specifically:
●    150 million VND/person upon being appointed Professor at UEH
●    100 million VND/person for Associate Professor
●    50 million VND/person for PhD

An additional 20 million VND per month to retain Professors and Associate Professors

Notably, UEH is implementing a retention policy for lecturers (Associate Professors and Professors) by increasing monthly income, with an additional 20 million VND per month for full-time Professors and Associate Professors, and 10 million VND per month for Professors and Associate Professors under joint full-time contracts.

Accordingly, the fixed monthly salary that Professors and Associate Professors at UEH receive ranges from 52 million VND to 120 million VND per month, excluding income from teaching beyond the prescribed workload, other training and scientific research activities, and additional income during the Lunar New Year period.
