UEH Launches Scholarship Policies to Promote Bilateral Academic Exchange and Attract International Students

The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has officially launched scholarship policies for UEH students studying at international partner universities and for international students coming to study at UEH for the 2026 and 2027 academic years. These policies are built on the UEH Glo-cal Exchange orientation, fostering a multicultural learning environment to develop a generation of Glo-cal Citizens and realizing UEH's comprehensive internationalization strategy for the 2026-2030 period.

Internationalizing Training – Completing the UEH International Academic Ecosystem

In its 2026-2030 development strategy, UEH positions the internationalization of training with an orientation toward expanding cooperation with universities worldwide, while building an international academic ecosystem that facilitates two-way exchange. In this ecosystem, UEH students have the opportunity to study at global partner universities, while international students come to UEH to study, research, and experience the academic environment in Vietnam.

This approach is implemented through the UEH Glo-cal Exchange orientation - an educational model that connects global knowledge with the local context, creating a multicultural learning environment where learners can develop limitless academic potential, proactively shape their development pathways, and cultivate the qualities of sustainable global citizens.

Building on this foundation, UEH's new scholarship policies are designed to:

Increase opportunities for UEH students to participate in international study and exchange programs;
Attract international students to study and experience the academic environment in Vietnam;
Create a multinational academic community right at UEH, promoting knowledge exchange and global academic cooperation.

These policies are simultaneously linked to UEH's international academic ecosystem development programs, contributing to expanding academic cooperation networks and enhancing knowledge flows within the global academic community.

Three key scholarship programs to promote international academic exchange

In 2026 and 2027, UEH implements three key scholarship programs for UEH students and international students, contributing to a multicultural learning environment and strengthening international academic connections. Specifically: (1) Scholarship Program for UEH students undertaking exchange studies at international partner universities; (2) Scholarship Program for international students undertaking exchange studies at UEH; and (3) Scholarship Program for international students pursuing full-time studies at UEH..

(1) International exchange scholarship for UEH students at international partner universities

Participating in the UEH International Exchange Scholarship Program, learners can proactively choose exchange programs at numerous prestigious partner universities worldwide, including in: Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, France, South Korea, Taiwan (China), Thailand, Indonesia,...

Each year, UEH allocates 100 living expense grants for students participating in exchange programs at partner universities that do not provide living stipends. The grant is calculated based on the actual duration of the exchange program, aiming to enable students to focus on their studies and experience the international academic environment. The support levels are:

2.600.000 VND/month for exchange programs in the Asian region;
5.200.000 VND/month for exchange programs in other regions of the world.

Upon completing the program and meeting academic requirements, students are eligible for equivalent credit transfer into their UEH training program according to their major/specialization, ensuring no impact on graduation progress. Accumulating international study experience enhances personal profile value, strengthens students' competitiveness in the global labor market, and builds a solid foundation for long-term career development – key factors for becoming future Glo-cal Citizens.

(2) Exchange scholarship at UEH for international students

Through the Exchange scholarship program at UEH, international students have the opportunity to study, research, and experience the unique culture and educational environment in Vietnam. International students participating in the program receive:

100% tuition waiver at UEH;
Free dormitory accommodation during the study period;
Living allowance of 2.600.000 VND/month for the duration of studies at UEH.
The program is open to students nominated by partner universities or free-mover international students wishing to study at UEH.

The program is designed to provide learners with access to diverse training fields at UEH, opportunities to learn about Vietnam's socio-economic context, connect with UEH students, and participate in academic, cultural, and corporate exchange activities.

These experiences contribute to forming a multicultural learning environment, promoting the cross-pollination of knowledge between educational systems, shaping global thinking and multi-environment adaptability for learners, and fostering long-term international cooperation networks.

(3) Scholarship for international students pursuing full-time studies at UEH

To attract and nurture talented international students for long-term study, UEH implements the Scholarship program for international students pursuing full-time studies at UEH. The scholarship package includes comprehensive support:

100% tuition waiver for the training program throughout the official study period;
Free dormitory accommodation;
Living allowance of 2.600.000 VND/month during official semesters;
100% tuition support for the Vietnamese preparatory course and B2 Vietnamese certificate exam fees (if applicable).

Each year, UEH grants 100 excellence scholarships across all levels of study (Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral) for international students, including 30 slots reserved for students from Southeast Asian countries and low-income countries, aiming to expand access to high-quality higher education for international students.
