UEH organizes a short-term course on Applying technology in creation with Holography

Hologram technology has been widely applied in many fields listed as design, fashion, advertising, events, exhibitions, etc. With the aim of providing platforms for mastering this breakthrough presenting technology, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and Kwang Woon University (Korea) jointly organized a short-term course on Applying technology in creation with Holography, with the host of experts in the field of holograms from Korea.

From rendering Logos or objects into three-dimensional images to playing a vital role in the success of virtual idol shows, Holography is an emerging technology that has a strong impact on many fields around the world. It is this great advancement of technology that breaks stereotypes, unlocking things that seem to only appear in science fiction movies.

Grasping this breakthrough projection technology, UEH and Kwang Woon University organized a short-term course "Application of technology in creation with Holography" from July 17-20, 2023 at UEH, led by experienced and famous Professors in Hologram of Korean universities including Prof. SeungHyun Lee, Prof. Soonchul Kwon, Prof. Leehwan Hwang (Kwangwoon University), Prof. Taegkeun Whangbo (Gachon University), Prof. CheongGhil Kim (Namseoul University). The course provides learners with the necessary knowledge and ability to fabricate holograms and understand their applications in a variety of fields, listed as art, science and industry, thereby, providing a full platform for learners to not only master breakthrough technology but also confidently spread and lead the Hologram playground in many fields.

Speaking at the opening of the course, Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice President of UEH - stated: “Sincere thanks are sent to Professor Lee and his associates for taking the time to visit UEH and transfer Hologram technology as well as cooperate with UEH to develop this technology not only in Vietnam but also in the region. This is a very new trend and technology in the world, developed by a group of professors and has many applications in the fields of demonstration, marketing, exhibition, planning, etc. Based on the close partnership of UEH and Kwangwoo University, especially after the recent trip to Korea, UEH has decided to organize a course on Hologram applications for UEHers and related companies and partners. Therefore, UEH is honored that all of you are here to explore the intersection of art and technology, delving into the combination of these two elements to create impressive, vivid visual experiences. With the practice of creating hologram art in this course, it is expected that we will know how to apply projection technology, 3D design - Holography to produce unique and impressive products that complement our work in fields listed as advertising, entertainment, education, etc. "

The course size is 30 students of which 15 students belong to UEH (Department of Marketing - Communication, Department of Information Technology, UEH College of Business - lecturers in Marketing, Martech, Digital Business,...; UEH College of Economics, Law and Government - lecturers in real estate, etc.; UEH College of Technology and Design, lecturers, researchers, specialists in design, communication, planning, information technology of units under CTD; Vinh Long Campus - lecturers in communication, information technology) and 15 students who are partners of UEH in Holography technology.

Throughout the course, learners study and experience the basic principles and techniques of recording, editing and applying holography that is "on the throne" in many fields listed as advertising, events, media, film, fashion, etc. and grasp the development direction of Holography in the future with topics as follows: What is Holography; Take care of life through AI-integrated diagnostic solution; Geometric sound-based 3D modeling for VR; Lippmann Photography; Basic analog hologram; Basic digital hologram; VR/AR, 3D Graphics; Optics for Holography; Understanding Holography by Geometric optics; Diffraction & interference theory based on wave optics; Hologram exhibition and discussion… Besides, the curriculum is designed with hands-on activities that take up most of the time, creating opportunities for learners to form practical experiences right in the process of acquiring knowledge.
