UEH organizing UEH League - Student Football Tournament for the first time

The UEH League - Student Football Tournament has officially been organized for the first time by the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) in March 2024. Not only is it a playground to improve health and solidarity, but UEH League also searches for and nurtures young talents for the city and the country.

In addition to professional training, research, and knowledge transfer, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City is also a dynamic environment with various union and voluntary movement activities, and especially fitness and sports. Every student at UEH will be encouraged and facilitated to develop themselves comprehensively, from knowledge to mental and physical health.

In 2024, UEH will organize the Student Football Tournament for the first time called "UEH League", taking place from March to September 2024 with 49 matches at the football field in UEH Nguyen Van Campus Sports Complex, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City with 10 teams (8 teams in the quarterfinals of the Futsal tournament of the UEH Student Sports Festival in 2023). The remaining 2 teams are selected from the 2 winners in the playoff match from 04 the second-place teams that could not enter the quarterfinals of the Student Sports Festival 2023.

In a large-scale and professional manner, the UEH League 2024 is aimed at UEH male students studying full-time, part-time, and in international affiliated programs or those participating in exchange programs at UEH.

The tournament’s organization plan is as follows:

- March 10, 2024: Play-off qualifying rounds

- April 2, 2024: UEH League launch event

- April 7, 2024: UEH League 2024 opening

- April 7 - May 12, 2024 and August 11 - September 22, 2024: 05 matches every Sunday

Morning: 7:00 am - 8:15 am; 8:45 a.m. -10:00 a.m
Afternoon: 3:30 p.m.-4:45 p.m.; 17:00-18:45; 19:00-20:45

- September 22, 2024: Final Round and Award Ceremony

The competition format is that 10 teams compete in a round robin to calculate points, and then select 4 teams with the highest score to enter the semi-finals. Detailedly:

The team with the highest score plays against the team with the 4th highest score;
The team with the 2nd highest score plays against the team with the 3rd highest score;
The 2 semi-final winners compete for first place
The two losing teams in the semi-finals compete for 3rd place

Prize structure:

- Team prize (Champion, Second and Third)

First place (Champion): 30,000,000 VND
Second place: 20,000,000 VND
Third place: 10,000,000 VND

- Additional prizes

Top scorer: 4,000,000 VND
Best goalkeeper: 3,000,000 VND
Best player: 3,000,000 VND
Consolation prize: 5,000,000 VND
Style prize: 4,000,000 VND
Best cheerleading team: 5,000,000 VND

Information regarding relegation: The two teams with the lowest scores among the 10 teams after playing the round-robin will be relegated and compete in the play-off to compete for tickets with teams not participating in the UEH League 2024 for the next UEH League.

The Opening and Final Rounds and Awarding Ceremony will be live on the UEH fanpage, UEH League page, and UEH YouTube channel.
