UEH Organizing Vietnamese Teachers' Day 39th Anniversary and being awared with First Class Independence Medal

On November 19^th, 2021, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) solemnly held Vietnamese Teachers' Day 39th Anniversary (November 20^th, 1982 - November 20^th, 2021) and was honored to receive First Class Independence Medal, awarded by President of Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This was a testament to Our continuous efforts and dedication of UEH leaders, lecturers, staff and employees in higher education career in addition to national socioeconomic construction-development contributions during Our past 45 years.

Our celebration proudly welcomed the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Phuc - Deputy Secretary of Communist Party of Vietnam Designated Representation, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Education and Training; Dr. Tran Van Minh - Deputy Inspector -General of Government; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hung - Deputy Chairman of Emulation and Commendation Department Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Nguyen Thi La - Permanent Deputy Secretary of Communist Party of Vietnam Committee of Universities and Colleges Group Ho Chi Minh City.

In terms of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City representatives, there witnessed the participation of Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong – Secretary of Communist Party Committee, UEH Council Chairman; Prof. Su Dinh Thanh – UEH President; Dr. Bui Quang Hung – Deputy Secretary of Communist Party Committee, UEH Vice President; Dr. Bui Quang Viet – Union Chairman. In addition, there received the presence of Lectures, Executive Secretary of UEH Party Committee, Standing Union; Youth Union and Students’ Association; Board of Management of UEH Schools; Board of Directors of Vinh Long Campus; Heads of UEH-affiliated Units, Departments and Institutes of UEH and member UEH schools. UEH officials and employees at Headquarter and Vinh Long Campus attended the ceremony via online modality.

Delivering a speech at this celebration, Prof. Su Dinh Thanh – UEH President asserted: “This Vietnamese Teachers' Day meeting is associated with UEH Great Family’s joy and pride; in which, UEH 45^th Anniversary of establishment is one magnificent mark. On this occasion, UEH honorably holds a ceremony to receive First Class Independence Medal. This indicates Vietnamese Communist Party and State recognition for our accomplishments, roles, and positions that UEH has achieved for 45 years of constantly striving for growth, reaching the regional level and integrating into the world. These greatly massive achievements have been gained thanks to UEH leaders, lecturers and official generations’ hard work and dedicated commitment. On behalf of Party Committee, UEH Council and Board of Management, I would like to acknowledge and do thank all retired generations and currently-working lecturers and officials for their valuable contributions. That is a massively motivational basis for our University to boldly and passionately innovate and move forward.”

During our 45-year constructing, endeavoring and evolving journey, University of Economics of Ho Chi Minh City lecturers, officials and employee generations have always been presenting continuous efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges; unceasingly innovating, creating, building and developing UEH into one national key public university, an address for highly-qualified training as well as a venue to transfer and apply scientific research results into practice; actively participating in policy-planning processes in addition to effectively contributing to the economic construction-development career of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.

UEH's sequential efforts and enormous performances for education and training have been recognized and appreciated by Party, Government, State Levels and Sectors with various awards, noble titles and international community honors on prestigious rankings: Top 25 Performing Universities in knowledge transferring fields in accordance with "Income from Continuous Professional Development" Standard for 05 consecutive years (U-Multirank 2016 - 2020); the only economics-field university included in QS 550+ Asia 2022 as well as being in numerous other reputable university rankings (SCImago research institution international rankings; Webometrics ranking of Digitization Capacity, Visibility, Transparency or Openness, and Excellence or Scholar; academic reputation Eduniversal ranking and so on).

UEH, on Vietnamese Teachers' Day 39^th Anniversary occasion, under Decision number 1686/QĐ-CTN October 26^th, 2021, was gloriously and proudly awarded First Class Independence Medal by President of Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This is one of the most highly noble Vietnamese State Medal for exceptionally outstanding collectives and individuals, contributing to national construction and development in 2011 - 2020 period. What is more, UEH was attained Emulation Flag awarded by Government at this solemn celebration.

To acquire those milestones, it should mention the dedication and devotion to the educational career of all lecturers and officials who have laboriously imparted scientific knowledge and moral lessons on UEH learner generations as well as UEHer generations’ efforts, solidarity and love crystallization for UEH’s sustainable development.

Upholding inherent values and "Tôn sư trọng đạo" (Respect towards Teachers) tradition, all UEH members will keep attempting to expectations and triumphs on upcoming journeys towards Multidisciplinary and Sustainable UEH University.
