UEH's Economics and Business Field Ranks 62nd Globally in U.S. News 2026-2027

The Economics and Business field of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has been ranked 62nd globally in the U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities by Subject 2026-2027 rankings. Among approximately 400 higher education institutions ranked in this field, UEH holds the highest position among Vietnamese representatives.

The Best Global Universities by Subject is a subject-specific ranking by U.S. News & World Report, evaluating educational institutions based on 13 research performance criteria, including academic reputation, scientific publications, citation impact, and international research collaboration. The indicators are derived from Clarivate data and the Web of Science database. The subject rankings are independent of the overall university rankings published annually by U.S. News.

Multiple research indicators among world leaders

According to the published results, in addition to its 62nd place globally in the Economics and Business field, UEH achieved high rankings across several component indicators.

Group of indicators reflecting research quality and impact:

- 13th globally in the proportion of publications among the top 10% most cited papers;

- 13th globally in the proportion of publications among the top 1% most cited papers;

- 17th globally in Normalized Citation Impact;

- 17th globally in the number of publications among the top 1% most cited papers.

Group of indicators reflecting research scale and collaboration:

- 25th globally in international research collaboration;

- 28th globally in the number of publications among the top 10% most cited papers;

- 33rd globally in international collaboration relative to the national average;

- 49th globally in total citations;

- 119th globally in the number of scientific publications.

Research capacity continues to be recognized across multiple subject rankings

The results from U.S. News Best Global Universities by Subject further add to the international subject rankings in which UEH is currently recognized.

According to the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2025, UEH ranks Top 1 in Vietnam in the field of Business, Management and Accounting; Top 2 in Vietnam in the fields of Arts and Humanities, Economics, Econometrics and Finance; and within Top 3 in Vietnam in the field of Social Sciences.

In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025, UEH's Economics and Econometrics field was ranked in the 251-300 group globally.

In the ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), UEH's Finance program was ranked 38th globally. According to the ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, this is the highest ranking ever achieved by a Vietnamese university on this ranking. Additionally, UEH's Economics program was placed in the 201-300 group globally, while its Business Administration program was placed in the 301-400 group, marking the first time this field from Vietnam has been recognized on the ranking.

The fields recognized by international ranking organizations also serve as the foundation for many flagship training programs at UEH. The University's training ecosystem is developed across multiple field groups, including:
