Taking place on the afternoon of April 15, 2026, at Hall B1.302, the workshop attracted a large number of UEH students, particularly those interested in the fields of finance, data, and technology. The program provided an overview of Quantitative Finance, a rapidly growing field that plays an important role in data analysis, risk management, and investment decision optimization.
Attending the program, from UEH, was M.A. Phan Lam Thao - Deputy Head of the Department of Student Affairs, Standing Member of the Event Organizing Committee. From the corporate side, the workshop was accompanied by Mr. Le Dang Thien Phuc - Senior Researcher at WorldQuant BRAIN, who was also the main speaker of the program.

A former Top 1 winner of the IQC competition from UEH shared their journey and practical experiences

Workshop "Every Leader Speaks Finance: Why Finance Thinking Matters for Every Career Path"
Continuing the activity series, the workshop "Every Leader Speaks Finance: Why Finance Thinking Matters for Every Career Path" took place on April 17, 2026, at Hall B1.302, with the accompaniment of Unilever Vietnam International Co., Ltd.
Opening the program, the speakers, including Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Anh (PC GA & Vietnam Supply Chain Finance Lead), Mr. Le Dinh Trung (Internal Audit & Risk Management Finance Manager), and Ms. Tran Thi Bich Ngoc (Finance Business Partner Manager), together broke down the stereotype that finance is only for those who work with numbers.
The speakers' sharing conveyed many meaningful messages
Through real-life examples of leaders who came from backgrounds in Human Resources or Marketing yet still achieved great success as CEOs, the speakers affirmed that Finance Thinking is the "common language" of all leaders. The ability to understand and make decisions based on a financial perspective helps young people create sustainable value and enhance their competitive advantage, regardless of the field they are pursuing.
The speakers connected and delivered their messages to the audience in an impressive manner
One of the key highlights of the workshop was the clear distinction between having and not having a financial mindset within a business. Without financial thinking, discussions can easily become subjective, lack measurable criteria, and often lead to negative "surprises" regarding costs at the final stage. When equipped with financial thinking, growth and profit objectives become transparent, trade-offs are clearly visible, helping leaders make decisions earlier and with greater confidence.
The speakers brought fresh and highly valuable perspectives
In the era of AI and constant change, the speakers summarized five essential groups of financial skills that students need to equip themselves with:
Particularly, addressing the question of whether AI can handle data instead of humans, the experts emphasized: AI processes data quickly, but humans are the ones who ask the right questions and make decisions based on strategic context.
The speaker spread inspiration through meaningful stories
Practical questions from UEH students brought valuable discussion points
The exchange session at the end of the program was lively, with many practical questions from students, ranging from how to develop financial habits early on to how to combine intuition and data in decision-making. Through this, the workshop not only provided knowledge but also motivated students to confidently build a sustainable career path for the future.
An inspiring journey, where connection and positive values were widely spread
