UEH signing a cooperation agreement with University of Adelaide, Australia

On the afternoon of September 21st, 2022, the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation between University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and University of Adelaide, Australia took place successfully, giving students the opportunity to access a top-quality education in Australia.
 
Attending the ceremony, on behalf of UEH, there was the attendance of Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh – UEH President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ha Minh Quan – Dean of UEH International School of Business (ISB); Dr. Pham Duong Phuong Thao - Deputy Head of Department of Research Management - International Cooperation.
 
On behalf of University of Adelaide, Australia, there were Dr. Jessica Gallagher - Vice Chancellor; Prof. Peter Draper - Vice Dean of Faculty of International Relations, Faculty of Social Sciences, Business, Law and Economics; Ms. Lucy Anderson - Director of International Business Development, International Relations.
 
 
 
 
Overview of the signing ceremony
 
At the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH - expressed his pleasure to welcome representatives from University of Adelaide. Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh stated that Global Pathways students have 1-2 years of preparation in terms of knowledge and skills during their study period in Vietnam. When they transfer to partner universities, they gain confidence, achieve outstanding achievements and have more career opportunities in the future.
 
On behalf of the University of Adelaide, Dr. Jessica Gallagher - Vice-Chancellor of the University of Adelaide – affirmed: “Global Pathways is a great start for students' journey to study abroad. Besides, University of Adelaide will always create the best conditions for Vietnamese students to transfer to Australia in the near future.”
 
The signing ceremony is a step marking a long-term cooperation journey between University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and University of Adelaide in order to give Global Pathways students the opportunity to access top-quality education in Australia and more attractive scholarship opportunities during the upcoming study-abroad transition period.

University of Adelaide is a member of the prestigious Go8, a group of eight leading Australian Universities in teaching and research, consistently ranked in the top 1% of the World’s Best Universities in many prestigious rankings. With over 22,000 students, 40% of whom are international students from more than 100 countries worldwide, University of Adelaide offers a dynamic, inspiring, and challenging educational environment.
Adelaide Global Pathways is a study abroad model following the current global trend. Adelaide Global Pathways is currently training in accordance with the 1+2 models. By participating in the Adelaide Global Pathways program, students will have a 1-2 year period to practice and hone their knowledge and skills in Vietnam. After that, they continue to study and receive a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Adelaide, Australia.
 
For admission to the University of Adelaide, students must meet the academic and English language entry requirements at Stages 1 and 2.
 
*Stage 1: Study in Vietnam
 
Regarding academic conditions, students need to meet the admission criteria based on personal high school results or the results of the National University-HCM Competency Assessment exam; or  the matriculation score of a regular university program in Vietnam. Transfer students from domestic and foreign universities will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
 
Regarding English requirements, students need to have an international English certificate equivalent to IELTS (Academic) 5.5 (Writing 5.0) or higher; or meet the standard English language test of the program.
 
*Stage 2: Study at University of Adelaide, Australia
 
In stage 2, students must possess an international English certificate equivalent to IELTS (Academic) 6.5 (component scores 6.0). At the same time, the GPA of Stage 1 to choose Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Business must be 6.4 and that for Bachelor of Finance - Banking is 5.9.
 
In addition, University of Adelaide grants many valuable scholarships exclusively for Global Pathways students including:
 
● 15% discount on tuition fees/year. Applied to all students with a Stage 1 GPA of 6.7.
 
● 30% discount on tuition fees/year. Applied to all students with a Stage 1 GPA from 8.4.
