On May 20, 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) officially signed a Cooperation Agreement for 2026, aiming to strengthen the connection between the University and the city's trade and investment promotion agency, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources, promoting applied research, and supporting the business community in the context of international integration and digital transformation.

Attending the Signing Ceremony, from UEH were: Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Vice President of UEH; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - Rector of UEH College of Business; M.A. Truong Minh Kiet - Deputy Head of the University Office; Dr. Nguyen Kim Duc - Acting Dean of the School of Economics, cum Vice Director of the Regional Development Research and Consultancy Institute; Dr. Nguyen Hoang Le - Director of the Institute for Human Resource and Business Development; Dr. Huynh Phuoc Nghia - Director of the Center for Economics, Law and Management.
From the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre, attending were: Mr. Tran Phu Lu - Acting Director of the Centre; Ms. Ho Thi Quyen - Deputy Director; Ms. Tran Thi Khanh Vy - Head of Research, Development and Training Division; Mr. Le Thanh Phong - Deputy Head of Research, Development and Training Division; Mr. Tran Hau Vy - Head of Information, Communications and Digital Trade Division; Mr. Tran Tien Dung - Head of Services and Business Support Division; Mr. Ho Hoang Long - Deputy Head of Foreign Trade and Domestic Market Promotion Division; Mr. Nguyen Minh Vu - Deputy Head of Investment Promotion and Local Cooperation Division.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Vice President of UEH affirmed: "After nearly 50 years of establishment and development, UEH identifies the strengthening of cooperation with state management agencies and practical organizations as playing a very important role, aiming to closely link training and research with the development needs of society. With a spirit of cooperative development, UEH commits to accompanying the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre in training high-quality human resources and promoting applied research linked to the city's trade and investment promotion activities."

Over the years, the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) has affirmed its role as an effective "extended arm" of the City in supporting enterprises, promoting exports, attracting investment, and enhancing the competitiveness of the city's economy. ITPC's promotion programs, economic forums, and training courses have brought many practical values, creating momentum for the business community to reach international stature. These are also areas where UEH is focusing its research and training.
1. Based on leveraging the strengths of both parties, UEH and ITPC will coordinate to implement key cooperation activities, including:
Training linkage tied to practice through training courses and skill development for enterprises according to the following content groups: The training courses are planned to include 07 programs divided into 03 main groups:
(i) Group on Free Trade Agreements and International Economic Integration: 02 programs;
(ii) Group on Export Capacity and Trade Promotion Enhancement: 03 programs;
(iii) Group on Capacity Building for Corporate Executives and Leaders: 02 programs.
This grouping is implemented according to the level of enterprise needs: from identifying FTA opportunities, preparing export capacity, to enhancing management capacity and international competitiveness.
2. Cooperation in research, science and technology transfer in trade and investment promotion activities, including developing the Project "Innovating Trade and Investment Promotion Activities of ITPC," and market research related to FTAs;
3. Coordination in promotion and mobilization of enterprises to participate in important events of both parties;
4. Linking websites between the two units.

The cooperation agreement between UEH and ITPC continues to affirm UEH's strategic orientation of linking education, research, and innovation with the practical development needs of Ho Chi Minh City, thereby making a positive contribution to the sustainable socio-economic development of the locality and the nation.
