UEH Strategic Development Council for the 2025–2030 Term Offers Feedback on Key Development Projects

On the afternoon of July 22, 2026, the UEH Strategic Development Council convened its regular session to discuss and provide feedback on the University's development projects for the 2025–2030 period, with a vision to 2045. The session focused on two core priorities: the establishment of an international academic ecosystem and the enhancement of research capacity, international publications, science and technology transfer, and product commercialization.

The session was chaired by Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong, Chairman of the UEH Strategic Development Council, with participation from its members.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong outlined the working agenda, with particular emphasis on discussions and feedback concerning two strategic development projects for UEH in the 2025–2030 period.

Overview of the session

During the session, Assoc. Prof. Pham Khanh Nam, Head of the Department of Research – Development and Global Engagement (RDGE) , presented the project "Building an International Academic Ecosystem at UEH for the 2025–2030 Period." The project aims to establish an integrated academic ecosystem, connecting scholars, researchers, learners, research organizations, partners, and global resources in training, research, and social impact creation.

Following this, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Nguyen, Rector of the UEH School of Business, presented the project "Enhancing UEH's Capacity in Scientific Research, International Publications, Science and Technology Transfer, and Product Commercialization for the 2025–2030 Period."

This project focuses on a synchronized development orientation, from research and international publication to the application, transfer, and commercialization of scientific outcomes. Through this, UEH aims to increase the practical value of its research activities, foster innovation, and contribute effectively to addressing local, national, and global challenges.

Building on the two project presentations, Council members engaged in in-depth discussions and offered feedback to review objectives, content, timelines, and feasibility in implementation.

Drawing on governance experience and multi-dimensional perspectives, the advisory inputs provided a crucial foundation for UEH to further refine the two projects, ensuring alignment with the University's overarching development strategy. These efforts are also intended to leverage academic strengths, enhance research and knowledge transfer capacity, and gradually develop science and technology products with high practical applicability.

In his closing remarks, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong, Chairman of the UEH Strategic Development Council, acknowledged and commended the contributions, emphasizing their importance as a basis for the University to continue refining the projects' content and improving their feasibility and effectiveness in the coming period.

The regular session continued to uphold the consultative role of the UEH Strategic Development Council in formulating, reviewing, and finalizing the University's development projects for the 2025–2030 period, with a vision to 2045. This contributes to realizing the goal of positioning UEH as a Vietnamese higher education institution achieving advanced standards among Asia's leading universities in the 2026–2035 period, as approved by the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Education and Training.
