UEH students experience the culture through the international camp program

Based on the cooperation agreement between University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) on cooperation and student exchange activities. UEH students participated in the Taiwan Summer Camp 2023 program in New Taipei City, Taiwan organized by Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) from July 3, 2023, to July 12, 2023. The program gathers together students from 7 different countries (Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Korea, Spain, and Vietnam) to participate in academic activities, business visits, cultural activities, …

During the 10-day journey, UEH students participated in 5 Mandarin learning sessions through daily activities; students participated in activities such as decorating names, making paper fans, making lanterns, designing dialogues about taboos in different countries (in Chinese),... and joining cultural sharing workshops in Taiwan. After these activities, each student collects souvenirs - considered a symbol of Taiwanese culture, made by their own hands.

Students also did campus tours at MCUT and Chang Gung University of Science and Technology, Organic Electronics Research Center, Center for Plasma and Thin Film Technologies, and the Battery research center of green energy,... Each discipline has practical and experimental rooms; Here, students not only listen to the overview of the majors but also experience wearing sleep-stimulating glasses, practicing designing souvenirs, assembling car models, adjusting robot movements, experimenting with changing the color of solutions,... Besides campus tours, the students also learned about the history and culture of the Taiwanese FPG company as well as explored the works of art and industrial products at the Formosa Plastic Group Museum.

Besides, students also have the opportunity to make their own and enjoy scallion-flavored donuts and the interesting experience of eating floating noodles at Hsu's Handmade Noodle Company. Through the above activities, the students not only gained a lot of useful knowledge but also understood more about Taiwanese culture, language, and cuisine.

Sharing from student Truong Thi Hong Trang, School of International Business – Marketing COB - “In my student life, this is the best experience that gives me a different feeling compared with the things that I've experienced before - a feeling that I would never have had if I hadn't had the opportunity to join this trip….I cherish every moment, even though this is a period. The time is very short, but it is enough for me to experience the culture and people of Taiwan, make more friendly and talented international friends, and visit and experience the "genuine" facilities at MCUT.

The program closes to give students valuable experiences, change their thoughts in a positive direction, and become stronger, bolder, tougher, and more ambitious people with friends. Great international. After the summer camp, every student returns home to continue their studies or start a new journey, but this fateful journey will give wings to young dreams, and step out into the world, get out of your comfort zone, discover and replace yourself with a new shell - tougher, more gorgeous, and more brilliant.
