On the afternoon of December 25, 2025, at Room A205, the University Council of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) for the 2025-2030 term held its Fourth Session as part of its approved work program. The session marked the completion of the University Council's key agendas for 2025-2030 term.
Throughout the 2025-2030 term, the University Council has exercised its leadership role in providing strategic direction and making key decisions on core aspects of university governance matters. The Council has guided, reviewed, and approved many important policies regarding organizational structure, training, admissions, finance, and strategic projects, thereby strengthening the governance foundation and supporting the University Board in the process of administering and implementing UEH's objectives.
The Fourth Session was held in the context of ongoing adjustments to the university governance model, in line with new directives on breakthroughs in education and training development. Accordingly, the University Council has successfully fulfilled its mandated roles and functions as prescribed for the 2025-2030 term.
The session began with opening remarks from Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao – Chairman of the University Council, who also presented the work program for approval. At the session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung – UEH Acting President, presented a report on the university's operational results in 2025 and its strategic orientation for 2026, providing a basis for the University Council to discuss and deliberate on key directions for the next phase.
The University Council reviewed the proposal to launch new undergraduate programs in International Trade Law and Digital Economics. The Council also discussed and determined the admissions targets for undergraduate, master's, and PhD programs for 2026, and deliberated on the proposed admissions methods for the K52 full-time undergraduate intake, to ensure alignment with UEH's training development orientation.
Regarding financial matters, the Council reviewed the 2025 financial performance report and the 2026 financial plan, along with the contents of the Bidding Regulations for the university's regular operations and procurement activities. Additionally, adjustments to the timelines for various projects were discussed and considered within its authority.
Based on the presented content, the University Council exchanged, discussed and voted to approve the items on the session's agenda, ensuring compliance with regulations and alignment with UEH's overall university governance orientation. With this, the Council completed its mandated duties according to its functions and roles for the term.

Speaking at the session, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao, Chairman of the University Council, acknowledged and expressed his sincere gratitude for the partnership, sense of responsibility, and dedicated contributions of all Council members throughout the 2025-2030 term. He noted that the University Council's consultations and resolutions have played a crucial role in the implementation of UEH's major tasks, especially as higher education faces numerous demands for innovation.
On this occasion, UEH's leadership presented letters of appreciation to honor the dedicated partnership and responsible contributions of the members of the 2025-2030 University Council in consulting on, planning, and approving the University's key policies.
