UEH Welcomed the Delegation from University of Science and Technology - Danang University to Visit and Learn from Experience in University Management Models and Autonomous Implementation

Minh City (UEH) had a meeting to welcome the delegation of University of Science and Technology - Danang University to visit and learn from experience in terms of the university management model and the implementation of autonomy policies.

Attending the program, in terms of UEH, there were: Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Head of Department of Undergraduate Training; Dr. Pham Duong Phuong Thao - Deputy Head of Department of Research Management - International Cooperation; MSc. Tran Hoang Tam - Head of Department of Finance - Accounting; MSc. Duong Minh Man - Deputy Head of Department of Human Resource Management, together with leaders of UEH functional Departments.

On behalf of University of Science and Technology - Danang University, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Lam - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai - Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Quang Trung - Head of Department of Organization and Administration; MSc. Hoang Quang Huy - Head of Department of Financial Planning.

The overview of the meeting

Representative of UEH Board of Management Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the University Council expressed his pleasure when University of Science and Technology - Danang University visited and worked with UEH. He shared: “UEH is one of the key national universities, pioneering in self-management since 2008 and recognized for its autonomy mechanism since 2014, has achieved important achievements so far. The school has exploited and made maximally the assigned rights and created important prerequisites for a new development phase. This comes from the desire and belief in self-success at UEH; the drastic, dare to think, dare to do in deployment; the leading role of the University's leadership with the view of taking market signals as the center and UEH culture as the foundation. Today, UEH is very pleased to welcome the delegation of the University of Science and Technology - Danang University to visit and learn from experience in implementing university autonomy. In the spirit of openness, UEH is willing to share and exchange the university's management experiences to support University of Science and Technology - Danang University in achieving the effectiveness in implementing university autonomy. At the same time, it is hoped that the relationship between the two universities will be better and stronger, contributing to the economic and social development of the country in the current 4.0 Industrial Era."

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Lam - Chairman of the University Council of University of Science and Technology - Danang University - expressed his joy when the UEH Board of Management facilitated, enthusiastically supported, and organized a meeting for the two universities: “Through research, it is known that University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City is a multidisciplinary university in Vietnam, the first public university in Vietnam that has been trusted by the Prime Minister to grant university autonomy in all activities since 2014. The achievements and results UEH has attained in recent years have been highly appreciated by the Ministry of Education and Training as well as society. Therefore, University of Science and Technology - Danang University is looking forward to working with UEH to learn, exchange, and share experiences in renovating the university management model and developing autonomous implementation policies”.

At the meeting, the leadership of UEH shared experiences in management, the university management model; advantages and disadvantages in the autonomous process; financial activities, quality improvement and increases in income for public employees; policies attracting young lecturers, and so on.

The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere with frank and open sharings from UEH leaders. In the upcoming time, the two universities will discuss together towards signing a comprehensive MOU on training and scientific research activities. Hopefully, the cooperation activities will truly promote the development of the two Universities, contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.
