On March 10, 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) hosted a delegation representing 23 universities and educational organizations from across Taiwan and held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony with six universities. The event marks an important milestone in UEH’s internationalization strategy and its efforts to expand its global academic network.
Attending the event, on behalf of UEH were Assoc. Prof. Bui Quang Hung - Interim President of UEH; Assoc. Prof. Pham Khanh Nam - Head of the Department of Research, Development and Global Engagement; Assoc. Prof. Pham Duong Phuong Thao - Deputy Head of the Department of Research, Development and Global Engagement; Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - Rector of UEH College of Business (COB); Dr. Tran Anh Hoa and Assoc. Prof. Tran Thi Hai Ly - Vice Rectors of COB; Dr. Tran Thi Tuan Anh - Vice Rector of UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG); Assoc. Prof. Trinh Thuy Anh - Rector of UEH College of Technology and Design (CTD); and Prof. Nguyen Truong Thinh - Vice Rector of CTD.
On behalf of the Taiwanese delegation, representatives from the following universities and educational institutions were in attendance: Asia University, China Medical University, Fo Guang University, Fu Jen Catholic University, Kaohsiung Medical University, National Cheng Kung University, National Chi Nan University, National Chiayi University, National Chung-Hsing University, National Dong Hwa University, National Formosa University, National Ilan University, National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, National Sun Yat-sen University, National Taichung University of Education, National Taipei University, National Taipei University of Technology, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Tzu Chi University, University of Taipei và University Entrance Committee For Overseas Compatriot Students.

Overview of the meeting
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Bui Quang Hung emphasized that the strong and sustained partnership between UEH and its Taiwanese partners represents a strategic step toward the university’s internationalization goals. UEH expects that these cooperation agreements will open up new development opportunities, fostering joint research activities and academic exchange with Taiwanese universities in the future.

Representing the Taiwanese university delegation, Prof. Hui-Mi Hsu, President of National Dong Hwa University, expressed appreciation for UEH’s warm and thoughtful hospitality. The delegation also conveyed its hope to further strengthen partnerships with Vietnamese universities, aiming toward sustainable and long-term development strategies in the future.

Within the framework of the event, UEH signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with six strategic partners: National Dong Hwa University, National Taipei University, National Chiayi University, Asia University, National Formosa University, and Tzu Chi University. These cooperation agreements aim to develop high-quality human resources, create opportunities for academic exchange, knowledge transfer, and joint projects, thereby delivering practical value to faculty members and students of both sides.

In addition to the official signing activities, the leadership boards of UEH’s member colleges, including the UEH College of Business (COB), the UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG), and the UEH College of Technology and Design (CTD), engaged in in-depth discussions with representatives from Taiwanese partner universities on the potential for expanding interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration.



The leadership of UEH’s member colleges discussed future collaboration opportunities with the Taiwanese delegation.
Through this working session, UEH further reaffirmed its strategic direction to expand a multidisciplinary global partnership network. With a collaborative ecosystem spanning universities, government and non-government organizations, and international professional associations, UEH expects the delegation to serve as a bridge connecting opportunities with businesses, experts, and social organizations both within and beyond Taiwan, thereby contributing to the strengthening of bilateral relations between Vietnam and Taiwan.
