UEH Youth Union and Student Association Officials Across Generations Gather to Celebrate the 95th Anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union

Joining the nationwide celebrations marking the 95th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2026), the Youth Union of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), in collaboration with the UEH Former Youth Union and Student Association Officials Liaison Committee, organized the Traditional Reunion of UEH Youth Union and Student Association Officials Across Generations on the afternoon of March 27, 2026, at UEH Campus A (Nguyen Dinh Chieu).

The event was attended by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Permanent Secretary of the Central Youth Union, former Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, former Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and former Secretary of the UEH Youth Union; Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and former President of the UEH Student Association; Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong, former Secretary of the UEH Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council, former President of UEH, and Chairman of the UEH Strategic Development Council; Prof. Su Dinh Thanh, former President of UEH and Chairman of the UEH Academic and Training Council; Prof. Nguyen Trong Hoai, former Vice President of UEH and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies; Prof. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao, Secretary of the UEH Party Committee; Assoc. Prof. Bui Quang Hung, Deputy Secretary of the UEH Party Committee, Interim President of UEH, and former Secretary of the UEH Youth Union; Dr. Dinh Cong Khai, Vice President of UEH; Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy, Member of the Standing Committee of the UEH Party Committee, President of the Trade Union, Head of the UEH Former Youth Union and Student Association Officials Liaison Committee, former Secretary of the UEH Youth Union and President of the UEH Student Association; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong Nho, Member of the Party Committee and current Secretary of the UEH Youth Union; along with former Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, and generations of former Youth Union and Student Association officials.

The reunion took place in a joyful, warm, and meaningful atmosphere. It provided an opportunity for generations of UEH Youth Union and Student Association officials to reconnect, revisit memorable experiences, and share stories from their vibrant youth. More importantly, it strengthened bonds among alumni and contributed to the continued growth of the UEH former Youth Union and Student Association community.

Opening the event, Assoc. Prof. Bui Quang Hung extended his congratulations to the UEH Youth Union and generations of former Youth Union and Student Association officials on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. He also expressed pride in the 50-year journey of growth and development of UEH youth and the UEH Youth Union and Student Association.

Continuing the program, the UEH Youth Union and Student Association presented a report on their activities during the 2021-2026 period and shared future development orientations. The report highlighted key achievements, outstanding initiatives, and awards earned by the UEH Youth Union while continuing the legacy established by previous generations of Youth Union and Student Association leaders.

The reunion was also honored to hear remarks from Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, who emphasized the enduring values of the Youth Union and Student Association as environments for learning, growth, and leadership development for generations of UEH students. He also expressed his expectation that today's youth will continue to demonstrate a pioneering spirit and innovation in the new era.

The program further introduced key initiatives designed to connect alumni and former Youth Union and Student Association officials as part of the activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. These initiatives aim to foster solidarity, encourage contributions from different generations, and strengthen the UEH community.

Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy also shared updates on the notable activities organized by the UEH Former Youth Union and Student Association Officials Liaison Committee

To express gratitude for the enduring contributions made to the development of the UEH Youth Union, current Youth Union members and officials presented commemorative gifts to distinguished faculty members and former Secretaries of the UEH Youth Union. This meaningful gesture reflected not only deep appreciation but also the strong continuity between generations of Youth Union and Student Association leaders.
