The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) was honored as one of 9 exemplary collectives to receive the Ho Hao Hon Award 2026 for the project "UEH Students' Journey to Action for Sustainable Development Goals and Spreading the Green University Model" -1. UEH was the only educational institution recognized in this category and this marks the 6th time the university has received this award, reaffirming the pioneering role of UEH youth in the journey toward sustainable development.

The project "UEH Students' Journey to Action for Sustainable Development Goals and Spreading the Green University Model" is a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing sustainable action capacity among students. Within this project, content on sustainable development and the 17 SDGs has been actively integrated into learning and research activities -2. Simultaneously, the project has implemented waste sorting initiatives, extracurricular activities, and established a Green Volunteer Team -4-6-8. The project has also been expanded through connections with other higher education institutions, spreading and replicating the UEH Green University model -2-7-9.

Pioneering in Creating a Sustainable Action Ecosystem Driven by UEH Students
The project demonstrates an innovative approach to the Youth Union - Student Association work at UEH by building a student-centered model, enabling students to directly create and spread sustainable value. Consequently, the project has become a comprehensive action ecosystem, contributing to the three pillars of economy - society - environment and realizing UEH's sustainable development orientation.

A Journey of Spreading Sustainable Value from the UEH Green University Project and the Pioneering Mark of UEH Youth
After nearly five years of implementation, the project has created significant positive changes within the student community, contributing to the formation of a sustainable academic and action ecosystem, enhancing research capacity, critical thinking, and green lifestyles -2-5. The project has also been recognized as a Typical Youth Project at the City level, demonstrating its applicability and replicability, while affirming UEH's pioneering position in the sustainable development journey -2.

The Ho Hao Hon Award 2026 recognizes the efforts of the UEH Youth Union in promoting green lifestyles and sustainable development, while providing evidence of the pioneering role of UEH youth in building a green and responsible campus environment. In the future, the UEH Youth Union will continue to refine and expand the project, spreading meaningful models to the community -2-5.
