University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) in the Top 5 Universities with Most International Publications in Vietnam by MoET

Pursuant to the decision of the Ministry of Education and Training on rewarding international publications in prestigious scientific journals under ISI, SCI and SCIE categorizations in 2020, at 224 articles, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) was named in the Top 5 most published Universities in Vietnam.

The Ministry of Education and Training recently released the official list of university rewardees for the most international publications in prestigious scientific journals under ISI, SCI and SCIE categorizations in 2020. With 224 articles recorded, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City was proudly recognized in the Top 5 Universities, just behind 4 other multi-disciplinary and regional universities.

Compared to 2019, the number of international publications at UEH has increased by nearly threefold and 5 ranks (Top 10 in 2019). Alongside other multi-disciplinary universities, as well as STEM-focused institutes, this achievement brought forth a commendable effort from UEH to maintain its high reputation as a research-oriented university specializing in Business, Economics and Law in Vietnam in recent years.

In addition, according to the 2020 summary report, UEH has had 380 publications in prestigious international journals, including articles categorized under ISI, Scopus and ABDC (rank B and above). In 2020, UEH also had 271 articles published in domestic journals, recognized by the State Council of Professorship.

Aspiring to promote international academic publications through continuous support from research funds and policy reforms, 2020 marks an outstanding effort in the university’s scientific research achievements. On top of that, in the face of COVID-19 pandemic, various UEH departments and institutes still persevered and showed tremendous strength as they organized a diverse range of scientific conferences and seminars, on multiple platforms and scales, with both domestic and international experts; namely 6 international events and 10 national events, along with establishing partnership with 62 foreign scientists for further research.

The result of our international publications last year is proof of the effectiveness of new polices on high-quality academic publications in a globalized higher education environment, while also showcasing commendable efforts from the Board of Management and UEH researchers, officials and lecturers. It’s with great pride that UEH continues to see rising tallies in the number of international publications while also partaking in various knowledge exchange occasions with fellow scientists worldwide.”

Not only was it recognized nationally, UEH has also received several major acknowledgments as well. Most significantly, at the 11^th place out of 176 universities in Vietnam, U-Multirank 2020 put UEH in the Top 25 Best Universities in the world in its effort in contributing to lifelong career development, while Webometrics 2020 affirmed UEH as a leader in digital transformation and knowledge sharing in economics and business, and finally, QS Asia 2021 announced UEH in the Top 601+ Best Universities in the region.

UEH aims to become a multidisciplinary university, in which the focus is on enhancing academic reputation to bring UEH to the Top 500 QS Asia and gradually reinforce its status as a highly prestigious school in Vietnam in training, research, consulting and economic policy, business, law and business information systems.
