University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City welcoming and working with delegations of Taiwanese universities

On March 4, 2024, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) coordinated with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City to welcome the delegation of Taiwanese universities to visit and work at UEH with the desire to share, connect, exchange, and develop opportunities for future educational cooperation programs with UEH.

Attending the formal meeting, for the delegation of Taiwanese universities, the head of the delegation was Prof. Dr. Chen Ho-Hsien - Counselor, Head of Education - Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City along with representatives of Taiwanese universities, including: Jinwen University of Science and Technology; Chinese Culture University; Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology; Minghsin University of Science and Technology; National Taipei University of Technology; National Dong Hwa University; National Formosa University; National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism; University of Taipei; Fooyin University; Lunghwa University of Science and Technology; Kun Shan University and China University of Technology.

On behalf of UEH, there was the presence of Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - Director of UEH; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Thanh Trang - Vice Rector of UEH College of Business; Mr. Vo Duc Hoang Vu - Deputy Head of Research - Development and Global Engagement; Ms. Dang Thi Bach Van - Chief of UEH College of Economics, Law and Government Office; Mr. Hoang Xuan Son - Deputy Head of the Department of Revolutionary Path of the Communist Party of Vietnam, UEH College of Economics, Law and Government; Dr. Le Hoang Yen Khanh - Research - Development and Global Engagement Department; Ms. Vu Tuong Quyen - Lecturer of the School of Media Design; Mr. Hoang Xuan Son School of Politics.

Overview of the meeting

At the official meeting, UEH and Taiwanese universities discussed cooperation opportunities within the framework of the 2+2, 1+3, 3+1 programs; exchanging lecturers and students; research and scholarships granted by the Government and Taiwan Universities. In addition, the parties discussed about programs according to the needs of Taiwanese businesses (Intense program) of the Taiwan Ministry of Education, according to which the Taiwan Ministry of Education will cover tuition fees, air tickets, living expenses, and conditions for finding jobs in Taiwan for students after graduation.

The official meeting between UEH and representatives of Taiwanese universities took place successfully, opening up many opportunities for cooperation between the parties, especially with universities specializing in the field of technology to promote the development of technology with the orientation of becoming a multi-disciplinary University with an academic and sustainable reputation in Asia.
