In Week 2 – August 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) continued to record a series of notable international publications, reflecting its expanding interdisciplinary research capacity and ability to approach global issues from multiple perspectives. On the morning of August 13, 2026, UEH College of Business and Royal Service Restaurant Hotel Travel Joint Stock Company held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The two parties also discussed and exchanged views on the signing of Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) with the School of Tourism and the School of International Business and Marketing. The event marked a new milestone in the partnership between the university and the business community, with a focus on strengthening the connection between academic training and practical experience while expanding opportunities for learners to learn, gain hands-on experience, conduct research, and develop their careers.
Sustainable tourism development cannot be determined solely by policy, businesses, or tourist demand; it must begin with the genuine consensus and participation of local residents. Drawing on the case of tourism cities in Central Vietnam, a study by researchers from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) reveals that residents are more likely to support sustainable tourism when they feel empowered, experience improved quality of life, are attached to their place of residence, and perceive clear social responsibility from the destination.
