25 newly graduated Masters and 03 excellent graduates were admitted to the Vietnam - Netherlands Program (VNP)

The morning of March 14, 2021 must have been a memorable day for 25 new Masters of VNP program - MAE Master of Art in Economics training program, Double Degree Master of DDP and Doctor of JDP in cooperation between the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands. After 2 years with 14 subjects taught entirely in English and a dissertation approved by the scientific boards of the two universities, it is time for students to take pride in having their valuable Master's degrees in Economics which have international value.

Besides the graduation ceremony of 25 new Masters, VNP also held the Opening Ceremony for the Joint Doctorate Program (JDP) for 03 excellent graduates.

This year's graduation ceremony took place at the new hall B1.302, Campus B (279 Nguyen Tri Phuong, Ward 5, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City). Coming to share the joy with students on the graduation day were Mr. Frank de Laat - Deputy Consul General, Consulate of the Netherlands; Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - UEH President; Prof.Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai - UEH Vice President, Program Director of VNP; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ho Viet Tien - Director of UEH Graduate Training Institute; Dr. Pham Khanh Nam - Head of School of Economics, Academic Director of VNP and teachers at the program.

Giving the opening remarks, Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - UEH Principal praised the serious learning spirit of the Masters for completing the program, encouraging newly recruited PhD graduates to make efforts in the next four years to defend the Doctorate thesis successfully.

Mr. Frank de Laat - Deputy Consul General, Consulate of the Netherlands highly appreciated the history of cooperation for the past 27 years of the two universities, contributing to tightening the bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries Vietnam - the Netherlands, in the field of education. Particularly Assoc.Prof.Dr. Matthias Rieger - Representative of the International Institute of Social Sciences, Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands, who unable to attend due to Covid-19, sent greetings to the participants via the screen.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Matthias Rieger, the representative of the International Institute of Social Sciences, Erasmus University Rotterdam, congratulates 3 new JDP-linked Joint Doctorate students and 25 MAE Masters in Economics at VNP.

Summarizing the school year 2019 - 2020, Dr. Pham Khanh Nam - Academic Director, reviewed the development of VNP, bringing many options to the education market in Vietnam. For example, with the Master of Double Degree program, students can receive two Master's degrees with only 6 months of studying in the Netherlands for 2 years of study. In particular, from 2019, VNP will expand the enrollment of the Joint Doctor Program. This is the first program in Vietnam to completely waive tuition fees for graduates and certificated by Erasmus University Rotterdam. Dr. Pham Khanh Nam also highly appreciated the graduates this year, whose GPA is very high and their theses were published in prestigious international journals.

The new Master Dang Vu Thanh received the award for the student with the highest GPA - Award for students with excellent academic progress at VNP.

Dr. Truong Dang Thuy presented flowers and a certificate of merit to congratulate the two new Masters Truong Hoang Yen and Mai Kien Trung, for achieving the highest thesis scores of the year.

Dr. Pham Khanh Nam awarded the International Announcement Award to 02 new Masters, Dang Vu Thanh and Nguyen Thien Nhan.

On behalf of the 25 new Masters, students Dang Vu Thanh and Kieu Cong Bang shared their emotions when they recalled their time at school and thanked the teachers for teaching them useful knowledge. To Mr. Kieu Cong Bang, a student participating in the program at a relatively late age, "it is a gift to go to school", he is very grateful to his family, teachers and friends who have supported him so much to complete the VNP Master program.

The most awaited part of the new Masters is probably the diploma award. The students were named one after another and walked to the honor podium to receive their Master's degrees. Below the stage are relatives, family and friends - Those who have encouraged and supported the new Masters during their studies. The pride, joy and emotion in every gaze of the new Masters could be read that day.

Closing the ceremony, all the teachers, guests and students of the Master and Doctor programs together took a commemorative photo to save the memorable moment.
