Closing and Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the training courses “Level 3 Managers” and “Finance for Administrators” of Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation in 2022

On the morning of July 5th, 2022, at Hall B1.302, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) solemnly held the Closing Ceremony and awarded the Certificates of the training courses "Level-3 Managers" and "Finance for Managers" of the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) in 2022.

Attending the Closing Ceremony, on behalf of UEH, there were: Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Head of UEH Department of Undergraduate Training and Deputy Head of UEH College of Technology and Design; Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Head of Continuing Education Department; together with leaders of UEH-affiliated units/ departments and lecturers.

On behalf of EVNHCMC, there were: Mr. Nguyen Duy Quoc Viet - Deputy General Director; Mr. Nguyen Huu Vinh - Deputy Head of the Organization and Human Resources Department with the presence of more than 200 students.

Speaking at the conclusion of these courses, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH - shared: “Implementing the cooperation agreement between the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and the Power Corporation of Ho Chi Minh City in 2022, UEH has recently organized training courses on “Level-3 Managers” and “Finance for administrators” for students of EVNHCMC. The training courses have achieved positive results, bringing useful knowledge to learners, thereby contributing to the development of Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation in particular and the economy in general. On behalf of the leadership of the University, I would like to congratulate the students who have studied well and completed the final assessment of the courses, with the results of 184 students rated Excellent and 31 students rated Good. I would like to thank the attention, support, and the creation of favorable conditions of the Leaders, the Organization and Personnel Department of the Power Corporation of Ho Chi Minh City, and the teachers and related units of the University for their support in working with a high sense of responsibility, closely coordinating in management and training to create the success of the courses.”

Appreciating the results from UEH's training courses, Mr. Nguyen Duy Quoc Viet - Deputy General Director of EVNHCMC shared: “Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation makes training and fostering staff a stage. It is important in personnel work in order to gradually improve management and administration capacity for cadres at all levels, creating conditions for staff to develop and improve their qualifications and skills to perform their assigned jobs well. Pursuant to Decision 1636 of EVN dated November 26th, 2021, on promulgating the human resource development process, which requires all leaders, managers, and planning staff of the Corporation to undergo training courses to foster corresponding management knowledge and create standard conditions when considering appointment and re-appointment of employees of the Corporation. To implement this plan, the Corporation has organized 4 training classes "Level-3 managers" and 3 training classes "Finance for administrators" for trainees who are currently leaders of various departments of the corporation, its affiliated units as well as staff in the planning resources. After these courses, students will have more knowledge about human resource management, communication management skills, implementation according to the development-oriented strategy of the corporation in the upcoming time, as well as topics on human resource management. In order to carry out this training program, I would like to thank the UEH Board of Directors and the lecturers who supported the Corporation to organize these courses.”

The training course “Level-3 managers” had 170 students and was organized into 4 classes, each class would study for 10 days with 6 topics: Human resource management (including corporate culture); Management skills; Strategy implementation and deployment (including the roadmap for electricity market development); Risk management (including control, compliance with legal knowledge); Media management, Communication skills and providing information to the press; Enterprise Financial Management. At the end of the course, each student took a multiple-choice test of 6 topics and presented an action plan in groups (7-8 students) in front of a Council consisting of lecturers from University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and representatives of leaders of Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation.

The training course “Finance for Administrators” had 45 students organized into 3 classes, each class took 3 days with 6 contents: Objectives of corporate financial management; Interpreting information from financial statements; Performance measurement and corporate financial management; Financial markets and funding instruments; Business analysis and financial planning; Corporate governance and control. At the end of the course, each student took a multiple-choice test that summarized the 6 contents learned.
