Closing Ceremony and Certificate Awarding for the "Economic and Financial Management for the Health Sector" Training Course, Intake 7 - April 2025

On the morning of November 6, 2025, at room A205, Campus A (59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu), the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) solemnly organized the Closing Ceremony and Certificate Awarding for the "Economic and Financial Management for the Health Sector" Training Course, Intake 7 - April 2025.

Attending the ceremony from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy HCMC were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Quoc Dat – President; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Thi Hong Tuoi – Head of the Personnel and Organisation Department. From the HCMC Eye Hospital was Specialist Level II Doctor Pham Nguyen Huan – Vice Director. Representing UEH were Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh – Former President of UEH (2020-2025 term) and Chairman of the Science and Training Council; MA. Nguyen Hoang Son – Deputy Head of the Department of Training; MA. Le Thi Hanh An – Deputy Head of the Department of Communications and Partnerships; MA. Dang Thai Thinh – Deputy Head of the Department of Facilities Management; along with the course's lecturers and participants.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - Former President of UEH (2020-2025 term) and Chairman of the Science and Training Council, expressed his delight that the training course has been sustained and widely adopted, bringing practical value to healthcare professionals. He emphasized that financial, economic, and data governance capabilities are the foundation for healthcare units to operate effectively in the context of innovation and autonomy. “This course not only provides knowledge but also serves as an opportunity for our two institutions to share strengths, learn from each other, and grow together, all aimed at serving the community,” Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh affirmed.

Representing the University of Medicine and Pharmacy HCMC, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Quoc Dat – President, highly appreciated the close collaboration and the program's practical nature. He noted that as educational institutions transition to an autonomous model, enhancing financial management and executive capabilities is an urgent requirement. UEH—a pioneer among autonomous universities—has become a strategic partner for the University of Medicine and Pharmacy HCMC to learn from and apply to its modern university governance model. The six-month course, featuring six core modules, has helped participants develop a strategic governance mindset and improve operational efficiency at their healthcare units. He extended his gratitude to the UEH team and congratulated the participants on their successful completion of the course.

Since 2022, UEH has collaborated on seven specialized training courses for the health sector, with over 120 officials and doctors participating. Intake 8 commenced in September 2025, and Intake 9 is scheduled for December 2025, reflecting the strong demand for learning and innovation from healthcare units.

The "Economic and Financial Management" training course, Intake 7 - April 2025, had 20 participants, including leaders from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy HCMC and the HCMC Eye Hospital. The program was specifically designed for the health sector, focusing on topics such as executive governance, finance, accounting, risk management, quality control, and investment project appraisal, while also encouraging participant feedback to refine future courses. The training achieved positive results, providing valuable knowledge that will contribute to societal development. All participants successfully completed their final theses, with 20 receiving certificates, including 11 with "Excellent" and 9 with "Good" classifications.

On behalf of the participants, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Khoa – Dean of the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy HCMC, extended his sincere thanks to the leadership of both universities and the UEH faculty, emphasizing that “every lecture was linked to practice, enabling us to immediately apply the knowledge to our management work in the health sector.”

In a formal and warm atmosphere, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Quoc Dat jointly presented certificates and congratulatory flowers to the participants and a souvenir to the class committee, acknowledging their efforts and contributions throughout the course.
