Developing scientific research capacity for students of Faculty of Economics, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City

Teachers and students attended the Student Scientific Research Workshop of Faculty of Economics

On attending the program, the students had the chance to listen to interesting sharings from the two guests, Dr. Nguyen Phuc Canh and Dr. Ho Quoc Thong. With the topic "The skill of writing a scientific article", Dr. Nguyen Phuc Canh gave some suggestive ideas and helped the students to have good directions for their scientific research topics. Illustrating by a practical example, Dr. Ho Quoc Thong shared an interesting study on behavioral economics by experimental method, entitled: “Celebrity endorsement of pro-environmental behavior”. Specifically, this study has the participation of the famous beauty pageant runner-up Hoang Thuy to spread behaviours and activities that are friendly towards the environment.

In particular, entering the workshop session, the students were also divided into 4 groups, presenting 14 research topics by themes under the evaluation of the chairing lecturers and the contributions of the students who share the common interest. The workshop attracted the participation of more than 200 students, creating a useful academic exchange environment, promoting research motivation for each student.

Following the Student Scientific Research Workshop activities, the Faculty of Economics organized a program aimed at developing the scientific research capacity of the students of the Faculty of Economics. The program has sharings, exchanges, and answering questions between teachers, groups of students who have won scientific research awards and interested students. In order to encourage and commend the quality research of students, the program also summarizes and awards outstanding research awards in Student Scientific Research Workshop. This is also the start of a series of activities to support students of the Faculty of Economics in particular, students of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh in general in the implementation of scientific research.
