[Thanh Nien Newspaper] While many young people are still struggling with their jobs due to the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic, there are still graduates who can get their jobs immediately after graduation with desirable incomes.

Tong Khanh Linh graduated from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in late March (Covid-19 pandemic season). Right after that, she was recruited by Agility Company as a public accountant.

Must have an outstanding difference
Linh said: "This is my first application and interview. During the Covid-19 season, more than 20 other candidates took part in the interview with me, and I was fortunate to surpass them. Probably, this result is because I have been preparing for more than three years in university and researching very carefully about the company".
According to Khanh Linh, during the Covid-19 season, to compete with other candidates, the employer would review  the transcript because the transcript reflected the academic capacity and attitude.
"Right from the first year, I determined that in the main subjects, particularly those  related to my majors, I invested time and effort to study well, so for these subjects I always got 8 points or more. Besides, I prioritized learning English to get TOEIC certificate. Many people think that you only need to learn English to reach the output standard of the university, but if you only do that, your CV will be very blurred, and unable to make an impression on businesses because nowadays businesses always have priority for English proficient people.  I learned information technology while studying so that I can use computational software. In addition, I took advantage of learning opportunities in lecture halls to learn about presentation and group work....", Linh shared.
Besides, Khanh Linh also impresses employers by communicating fluently, dynamically, confidently and demonstrating deep understanding of the business. "In order to get a desired job, especially during the Covid-19 season, young people need preparation and investment right from the first year of university. Determine what you will do in the future, take the time to learn, experience and make yourself different and stand out.", Linh acknowledged.
Pham Nhat Ban received his diploma from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in March 2021 but since October of last year (a year of raging Covid-19), he was recruited by an import-export company and currently, Ban's income is the dream of many friends.
The alumni in commercial business department said: "Due to the Covid-19, the company recruited only 2 people, but the profile was up to a few dozen, leading to the level of competition being quite fierce. Good graduation grades was a good initial impression. Besides, when interviewing, enterprises focused on communication ability, giving situations for candidates to find ways to solve problems. They also looked at the candidate's interactions and behaviors with the people around them".
The main difference of Ban has been his part-time experience in HR department in some tourist resorts, architecture companies... since he was at university. "Please set a specific roadmap and direction for yourself right from the first year. In this technological period, especially in the time of Covid-19, if anyone has a faster pace of self-development, that person will be selected ".
Employers want candidates who always have impressive solutions
Mr. Huynh Le Khanh, Senior CEO of Golden Media Group, acknowledged: "A graduate who wants to get a job right away and a high income level during the time the Covid-19 is making a negative impact to the economy, has to ask himself: Do you have the ability to create a huge sales growth for your company. This will lie in two things, either good relationships to be able to bring you the deals, or your outstanding talent which can create impressive solutions."
Based on these two things, Mr. Khanh thinks that being excellent at a major and producing an immediately applicable solution from your acquired knowledge, surely candidates will be recruited and utilized in the time of Covid-19. In addition, young people have to take control of your life, enrich your experiences and expand your relationships. "I was very impressed with a high school student who personally organized an online seminar program and emailed us for sponsorship. After I stated some unsatisfactory points on the profile, after a week, she sent back the file that surprised us, and I was conquered. From now, this student has worked hard to show such an outstanding difference, then after 4 years, when she graduate from university, the possibility of her being recruited by a company for a managerial position is very high. Therefore, young people should prepare themselves as early as possible, especially in the labor market during the Covid-19 season, the job demand is increasingly higher".
Mr. Khanh said that students should experience and participate in many activities in universities and society to equip themselveswith important skillsto solve complex problems in an increasingly flat world, resilience, commitment, not being afraid of difficulties and discouragement.
Associate Professor.Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao, Head of the Training Department of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, said that, in the context of Covid-19, s, besides good learning, students need to accumulate foreign languages, flexibility, diversification of working methods, such as being able to work on online platforms... "Especially, businesses are digitally transforming. The candidates must also be digitized to reach the employers requirements "..
