The Ho Chi Minh City Economic Annual Report Series is a research publication jointly conducted by the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and the Ho Chi Minh City Statistics Office. Following the success of previous publications, the research on Ho Chi Minh City Economy in the final issue of 2024 has been officially announced with the title "Ho Chi Minh City Economic Report: Recovery and readiness for a new era".
“Ho Chi Minh City Economic Report: Recovery and Readiness for the New Era” is a research publication jointly conducted by UEH and the Ho Chi Minh City Statistical Office, with the advice of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Council of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Khac Hoang - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Statistical Office; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Asian Economic and Business Studies, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Khanh Nam - Rector of the UEH College of Economics, Law and Government. The author group includes Dr. Ho Hoang Anh - University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (editor-in-chief); Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Ho Chi Minh City Statistical Office (co-editor-in-chief); Mr. Le Minh Hung - Ho Chi Minh City Statistical Office; Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Ho Chi Minh City Statistical Office; Mr. Vo Duc Hoang Vu - University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.
To officially introduce and launch the annual report, UEH and the Ho Chi Minh City Statistics Office jointly organized the seminar “Ho Chi Minh City Economic Report: Recovery and Readiness for a New Era” on December 25, 2024. This event created a forum for exchanging and discussing research results between researchers and policy makers in Ho Chi Minh City.

Remarking on the opening of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH - stated: “The annual economic report of Ho Chi Minh City was created on the basis of cooperation between UEH and the Ho Chi Minh City Statistics Office, which is a useful tool for the City's leaders in the process of building and operating the City's socio-economic development policies. It is also an important reference for investors and domestic and foreign enterprises to gain more information on investment orientation and market expansion in the business development strategy in Ho Chi Minh City. This has proven UEH's efforts to contribute to making Ho Chi Minh City ready to enter a new era of development, reaching the regional and international levels".

On behalf of the research team, Dr. Ho Hoang Anh - Lecturer of the School of Economics, UEH (co-editor) - presented the main contents of the Report, the opportunities and the challenges that Ho Chi Minh City has been facing in preparation for the new era.

The discussion raises perspectives from the delegates, recommendations on policies and solutions to promote the city's growth rate in 2025 and the new era.
