Continuing its quality assurance and program accreditation efforts, from July 29 to 31, 2025, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), in collaboration with the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA), conducted the online accreditation of four academic programs under FIBAA standards. The programs under review included the Bachelor of E-commerce, Bachelor of Agribusiness, Bachelor of Public Management, and Bachelor of Human Resource Management.
The FIBAA expert panel consisted of Ms. Lisa Lubomierski (FIBAA Project Manager); distinguished university professors including Prof.Dr. Oleksii Oleksiuk (Kyiv National Economic University, Ukraine), Prof.Dr. Rainer Kühl (University of Giessen, Germany), Dr. Rūta Petrauskienė (Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania), Prof.Dr. Heike Schinnenburg (University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück, Germany), and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong (Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam); industry experts including Ms. Silke Waidacher (Wiweko e.U, Austria); and student representative Mr. Constantin Elias Konradi (Alanus University, Germany).
Representing UEH were Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh – President, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Quang Hung – Vice President, the Boards of Rectors of the member colleges, leaders of the academic faculties, program directors and relevant lecturers, representatives from the administrative departments and offices, as well as current students and alumni of the accredited programs.
Overview of the Conference
At the opening session, Ms. Lisa Lubomierski (FIBAA Project Manager) noted that UEH’s progress in implementing program-level and institutional accreditation in accordance with FIBAA standards has been highly positive. UEH has successfully completed institutional accreditation as well as the accreditation of multiple academic programs with FIBAA, while continuing to make significant improvements in university governance and academic programs in line with FIBAA’s recommendations. She affirmed that FIBAA will continue to collaborate with and support UEH in the coming years to further enhance the university’s higher education quality in accordance with European standards.

During the working sessions, the FIBAA delegation conducted interviews, exchanges, and discussions on the quality management of academic programs with all relevant stakeholders, including leaders of the academic faculties, program directors and related lecturers, representatives from administrative departments and offices, as well as current students and alumni of UEH’s accredited programs. These interactions aimed to clarify, analyze, and assess the strengths and areas for improvement of the programs.
Interview Activities of the FIBAA Expert Panel
At the closing session, the FIBAA experts presented a preliminary summary of their evaluation of the academic programs based on the following criteria: (1) Program objectives, (2) Admission requirements, (3) Content, structure, and pedagogical approach, (4) Academic environment, and (5) Quality assurance. They also highly commended the dedication and efforts of UEH’s entire management and teaching staff in maintaining the quality of the academic programs and upholding UEH’s leading position in the fields of economics, business administration, and management in Vietnam.

Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh, President of UEH, expressed his gratitude and high appreciation for the cooperation and contributions of FIBAA to Vietnamese universities in general, and to UEH in particular, thereby affirming FIBAA’s important role in higher education quality assurance in accordance with international standards in Vietnam. On behalf of UEH, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh reaffirmed the university’s commitment to continuously enhancing quality across all aspects of university governance, education, research, and community service, in order to maintain and further improve quality in line with FIBAA standards.
The outcomes of this accreditation process will serve as a solid foundation for UEH to continually improve the design, governance, and operation of its academic programs in accordance with international standards, thereby enhancing the quality of education at UEH as a whole, and of the accredited programs in particular, in alignment with UEH’s strategic direction towards becoming a Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University in the coming period.
