Morning 18/11/2015 at Hall A103 (59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, Ward 6, District 3, HCMC - UEH main campus) the signing ceremony of consulting projects for Vietnam Logistics Emmen between City Economics University - Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), Municipality Emmen, Drenthe Province - Netherlands, Stenden University of Applied Sciences - Netherlands and Vietnam Trade International Company (VTI). Attending the ceremony, there are representatives Municipality of Emmen (Netherlands) by Mayor Cees Bijl, leader of delegation, representatives from the Stenden University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands) by Prof. Leendert Klaassen - President, leader of delegation, Mr. Hai Pham - Director of VTI; towards University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City: Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong - President, Assoc. Prof. Le Tan Buu - Chairman of the Labor Union, Assoc. Prof. Ho Viet Tien - Head of Research Administration - International Cooperation Department and Dr. Nguyen Duc Tri - Dean of School of Tourism. Additionally, there are attendance of the businessmen from Emmen and Hoogeven City (Netherlands) entrepreneurs, Vietnam entrepreneurs, journalists and the media, lectures and students.
Project named "Plan to increase goods flows from Vietnam via Rotterdam / Amsterdam to Emmen – Coevorden dry port", referred to as "Consultancy ROTTERDAM – EMMEN logistics for products to Europe from Vietnam ", and was set up to collect goods from Vietnam flowing through the Rotterdam and Emsterdam ports to Emmen Coevorden port (Northeast of the Netherlands). The goods should be stored in warehouses, forwarding, and distribution within region or to neighbor countries such as Germany, the Scandinavian countries, the Baltic countries, Poland and Russia. Thanks to the advantageous geographical location of the city Emmen, as well as the port and its transport system in logistics activities, the project compromises to bring greater access for exports from Vietnam to the Eastern and Northern Europe countries - these are the target destinations of Vietnam which are developed rapidly in current years. The project is as well as expected to increase competitiveness for Vietnam's products in Europe, in term of creating jobs opportunities for the regions of the both two countries related to these promotion activities.
The signing between UEH and Stenden University of Applied Sciences is considered the following step after the Memorandum of understanding (MOU) which has been signed in early July 2015, regard to the establishment of the triple parties interaction model (Triple Helix) including: University – Industry - Government to facilitate trade and create a friendly environment for entrepreneurs and using study and research as the advantages of the two universities to consult the business communities of the both two countries.
