Seminar on "Traffic and Technology Applications to Solve Current Problems" at Institute of Smart City and Management (ISCM)

At the seminar, Director of VGTRC Center – Dr. Vu Anh Tuan conducted lab introduction by showcasing motorcycle simulator and traffic accident reenactment software. Additionally, Director of ISCM - Dr. Trinh Tu Anh also presented Smart City Studio-Lab with emphasis on city simulation, transportation and smart city development to solve urban issues through virtual reality (VR), gamification, artificial intelligence (AI) and other simulations. Furthermore, the participants then discussed the current hot topic of Traffic Safety and How to Modify people’s behaviors in traffic.

ISCM moved to introduce a new project “Smart Educational Application to Improve Traffic Safety for Vietnamese Students”, which falls under the collaborative research effort between ISCM and the Transport Research Institute (IMOB), Hasselt University (Belgium). The purpose of this study is to establish an innovative and long-term traffic safety education program through active learning via gamification, Route2chool and VR (Virtual Reality Game) so as to increase the overall appeal in experience, and therefore, encourage actual behavioral changes in learners. The project was developed in the Smart City Studio-Lab of the ISCM.

The seminar has gathered many valuable comments from the participants. All parties have reached several agreements on shared lab/data usage and program implementation, including any and all equipment and the appropriate facilities needed for conducting scientific research, including projects related to transportation. The participants have also agreed to provide timely and sufficient personnel support to proceed with any research relating to transportation. And finally, it was decided that further periodic seminars will be held and become more inclusive of other department so as to create a more sustainable smart transport system.

Tại buổi tọa đàm, Giám đốc Trung tâm VGTRC TS. Vũ Anh Tuấn giới thiệu phòng lab với thiết bị xe máy mô phỏng và các phần mềm tái tạo tai nạn giao thông. Đồng thời, Viện trưởng ISCM TS. Trịnh Tú Anh giới thiệu phòng Studio-Lab Đô Thị Thông Minh để mô phỏng đô thị, phát triển giao thông và đô thị thông minh để giải quyết các vấn đề đô thị qua thực tế ảo (VR), gam hoá (gamification), trí tuệ nhân tạo (AI) và các mô phỏng khác.

Cũng tại buổi tọa đàm, các thành viên tham gia đã thảo luận về chủ đề nóng hiện nay là An toàn giao thông và phương thức thay đổi hành vi người tham gia giao thông. ISCM đã giới thiệu một dự án lớn “Ứng dụng giáo dục thông minh nhằm cải thiện an toàn giao thông cho học sinh Việt Nam”. Dự án nằm trong chương trình hợp tác nghiên cứu giữa ISCM và Viện nghiên cứu giao thông (IMOB), Đại học Hasselt (Bỉ). Đây là dự án xây dựng chương trình giáo dục an toàn giao thông đổi mới và dài hạn theo phương thức học tập chủ động bên ngoài nhà trường, thông qua ứng dụng game hóa (gamification) Route2chool và thực tế ảo (Virtual Reality Game) nhằm tăng tính hấp dẫn học tập, trải nghiệm và thay đổi hành vi thực tế cho người học. Dự án được xây dựng và phát triển tại phòng Studio-Lab Đô Thị Thông Minh của Viện ISCM.

Buổi tọa đàm đã thu thập được nhiều ý kiến đóng góp giá trị từ các thành viên tham gia. Qua buổi tọa đàm, hai đơn vị đã đi đến một số thống nhất như có thể sử dụng chung hệ thống phòng lab, trang thiết bị, công nghệ phục vụ đề tài nghiên cứu khoa học, dự án liên quan đến lĩnh vực giao thông vận tải. Thứ hai là chia sẻ dữ liệu, kinh nghiệm thực hiện đề tài nghiên cứu khoa học, dự án liên quan đến lĩnh vực giao thông vận tải. Thứ ba, hỗ trợ nhân lực cần thiết thực hiện đề tài nghiên cứu khoa học, dự án liên quan đến lĩnh vực giao thông vận tải. Thứ tư, hợp tác thực hiện đề tài nghiên cứu khoa học, dự án liên quan đến lĩnh vực giao thông vận tải. Cuối cùng, tiếp tục tổ chức các hội thảo định kỳ và mời thêm các đơn vị khác cùng tham gia để tạo thành một cộng đồng phát triển giao thông thông minh và bền vững.
