Series Commending UEH 5-Good Students 2023 - Honoring Each Individual's Journey of Self-Development Efforts

From January 3-13, 2024, at University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), the series commending UEH 5-good Students 2023 with the theme "Accretion" was organized by the UEH Student Association to celebrate the 74^th Anniversary of Vietnamese Students and the Student Association (January 9, 1950 - January 9, 2024) and commend UEH students for their excellent achievements in the past 2023 year.

Since the beginning of January 2024, a series of pre-commendation activities has created enthusiastic interest and support from students.

Officially launched on January 3, 2024, the theme "Accretion" is to honor the journey of accretion and efforts of excellent individuals who constantly cultivate and develop themselves to conquer the title "5-Good Student" - the crystallization of constant efforts. Accompanying UEHers throughout the process of cultivating knowledge and skills, and getting closer to the title of UEH 5-Good Student, a series commending UEH 5-Good Student provided students with a direct contact environment with the 5 Good Student movements through a series of "Kick-start week" activities including Information Booths taking place from January 10, 2024 to January 12, 2024, at the Campus B, Hall B1, UEH. UEHers would have the opportunity to raise questions about the criteria for selecting the 5-good student title, listen to the sharing of students who have achieved the title about the process of conquering their goals and participate in interesting and useful mini-games. The activity attracted nearly 400 students from all courses. It can be identified that students' interest in the 5 Good Student Movement is increasingly expanding.

Not only that, within the framework of this year's "Kick-start week" series, the UEH Student Union Secretariat launched the contest "I am a 5-good student" with the award "Inspiring 5-good student" 2023 on Tiktok to honor 5-Good Students who are influential, have the power to spread good values, and inspire and determine to become 5-Good Students to their peers. The contest attracted many 5-good students to share their journeys.

Through the voting and scoring process, the Student Association Secretariat has selected the owner of the title "Inspiring 5 Good Student". Congratulations to Nguyen Duy Hai - Class KMC02 - K48 - School of International Business and Marketing. In his entry posted on TikTok, Duy Hai shared: "For me, this is not absolutely a title; rather, this is a whole process of dedication."

The UEH 5-Good Student Commendation Ceremony 2023 took place successfully to commend and to award outstanding individuals and groups for achieving the title of 5-Good Student at all levels during the year while launching and implementing the 5 Good Student Movement in 2024.

Held at Campus A on January 13, 2024, the Ceremony was honored to welcome Mr. Nguyen Tat Toan - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Youth Union's Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese Student Association in Ho Chi Minh City. On behalf of UEH, there was the participation of Prof.Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Deputy Director of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH); Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Chairman of UEH Union; Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong - Vice Principal of the College of Business; Dr. Thai Kim Phung - Vice Principal of College of Technology and Design; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong Nho - Secretary of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; Leaders of management departments and training units; Youth Union Standing Committee - UEH Student Association Secretariat; Representatives of affiliated Unions and Associations; Parents of 67 UEH 5-good students and the support of more than 700 UEH students.

Not only that, the ceremony awarded Inspirational 5-Good Student to Nguyen Duy Hai; Congratulations to 04 Students who achieved the title of 5-Good Student at the City level 2023; 09 5 outstanding UEH students; 02 UEH 5-good students for 3 consecutive years.

Among them, Ngo Hoang Thien - Class ADC04 - Course 47 - School of Management - excellently won the title of "UEH most outstanding 5-good student 2023". This is a testament to his persistent efforts and accretion through all the journeys. In his speech, he shared: "For me, 5-Good Student is not a destination, it is a milestone on the endless road moving forward."

At the same time, at the UEH 5-Good Student Commendation Ceremony 2023, the "Future Brightness" Fund awarded 6 scholarships worth 4 million VND each to students. This is an extremely meaningful gift from the UEH Student Association to students who are in difficult circumstances but have a strong will to improve in study and life and have excellent achievements in movement activities at UEH.

In order to create opportunities for UEH students to learn and explore the title of 5-Good Student, and motivation and a specific roadmap to strive to become 5-Good Students, a series developing the 5-good student movement after the commendation continues to be expanded

A series developing the 5-Good Student movement after the commendation takes place from January 17, 2024 - March 20, 2024, including:

- Orientation Talkshow - Introduction to the 5-Good Student Movement

- Workshop: Solutions to improve the quality of the 2nd UEH 5-good student movement (2023-2024)

- Workshop on planning to conquer the title of 5-Good Student

- The 49th Voluntary Blood Donation Week

Through this, to introduce and to create interest for students in the series praising 5 Good Students 2023 and the 5 Good Students movement, increasing students' proactive learning about the movement, motivating them to conquer the title and helping concretize the goal of the title of 5-Good Student through planning and setting specific target for each stage.

To continue and to promote the proud achievements of the 5-good student movement 2023, the UEH Student Association Secretariat has issued a Draft Project for selecting the title of 5-good student and groups in 2024, thereby officially launching the 5 Good Student Movement 2024, which promises to continuously develop, increasingly affirming the position and role of this noble title in the hearts of students.

It can be stated that, the activities of the UEH Youth Union - Student Association, in the past year 2023, were not only groundbreaking and creative in content and implementation methods but also demonstrated the pioneering spirit of UEH students in accompanying the school's development strategy. Aiming to become "Global Citizens who act for sustainable development", concurrently, the 5-Good Students who were honored that day are typical examples in the movement to emulate learning and to practice both physically and in skills, and are the fires that light up student traditions for the following generations.
