On the afternoon of March 29, 2021, the cooperation signing  ceremony between The Vietnam Association of Film Promotion and Development (VFDA) and the UEH International Language and Country Studies Institute (UEH - ILACS), directly under the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) took place at Campus A, marking the step of strategic cooperation in film training, promotion and development between the two sides.

Attending the signing ceremony, on the side of the Vietnam Association of Film Promotion and Development (VFDA), there were Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan - Chairwoman, film director Nguyen Quang Dung, film director Khai Ninh. On the side of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, there were Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the University Council; Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - UEH President; Dr. Bui Quang Hung, UEH Vice President; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of UEH Advisory Council and Mr. Phan Nhu Minh - Director of the UEH International Language and Country Studies Institute (UEH - ILACS).

Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Association of Film Promotion and Development, said: In recent years, VFDA has had many practical activities to promote Vietnamese cinema at the Busan International Film Festival, Tokyo International Film Festival, in collaboration with VTV Digital, organized two Vietnamese Film Weeks on VTV Go, attracting the attention of the public across the country. VFDA has cooperated with the US Motion Picture Association (MPA) in professional film activities such as online training, screenplay ideas/film projects, international seminars...

The cooperation program between the Vietnam Association of Film Promotion and Development and International Language and Country Studies Institute under the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH - ILACS) this time aims to co-operate in the construction, propaganda and promotion of cinema and development activities and film education in Vietnam. The program contributes to creating human resources for the development of the Vietnamese film industry and at the same time meeting the aspirations of students. These young people love cinema, who wish to participate in activities related to Cinema & Commercial Cinema.

According to the signed content, The Vietnam Association of Film Promotion (VFDA) and Development and International Language and Country Studies Institute (ILACS) will cooperate with reputable international partners to build seminars related to cinema and culture, short-term training courses (from 2 weeks to 3 months) for disciplines related to filmmaking (film production, film marketing, screenwriting, directing, filming, acting, commercial production, cinematographic products….). The lecturers are expected to be famous Vietnamese and foreign film experts and filmmakers.

The cooperation between the two sides will create opportunities for young people who love movies, who want to participate in film activities and to have access to knowledge, experience and skills from leading domestic and international experts; thereby, contributing to building the Vietnamese film industry to step by step integrate more with the cinema world.
