In the morning of May 13, 2024, at room B1.403, Campus B of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), 279 Nguyen Tri Phuong, Ward 5, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, UEH College of Technology and Design (CTD), in collaboration with AGEST Vietnam, organized the Opening Ceremony of the Cyber Security Course. The opening ceremony kicked off a week of providing and training knowledge and skills on cyber security for UEH lecturers, officials, and students under the instruction of a prestigious expert from Japan - Dr. Munehiro Shiratani.
Attending the opening ceremony, on the side of AGEST Vietnam, were Mr. Mizuide Tamaki - General Director; Mr. Vuong Bao Long - Chief Operating Officer; and Mr. Phan Thanh Tam - Director of Japan Market Development. On the side of CTD, there was the participation of MSc. Phan Hien - Associate Dean of School of Business Information Technology, UEH College of Technology and Design (CTD); and MBA. Dao Thi Minh Huyen - Interim Head of CTD Office; along with nearly 50 learners who were lecturers, officials and students of UEH.

AGEST Vietnam is one of the leading dynamic technology companies founded in Silicon Valley and inheriting decades of expertise in comprehensive software development. The Cyber Security Course is one of the cooperation activities within the framework of a cooperation agreement signed on April 12, 2024 between CTD and AGEST Vietnam with the goal of improving professional and personal skills for lecturers, officials and students at UEH. After the course, learners are expected to enhance their awareness in securing personal and organizational data, as well as other issues related to information security. The course is under the instruction of Dr. Munehiro Shiratani - a reputed cyber security expert in Japan. He specializes in Penetration Testing and Security Consulting and has had more than 30 years in the industry and worked for several corporations including Digital Hearts Holdings Co., Ltd., and AGEST Co., Ltd. He is also a lecturer for the Certified Ethical Hacker program in Japan.
With the goal of contributing and promoting the development of UEH towards multidiscipline and sustainability, putting learners at the center for the community’s development and encouraging lifelong learning, CTD has been developing training programs and courses associated closely with practice; collaborating with reputed businesses and prestigious experts in the region and around the world to build training programs, attract human resources and build an open innovation ecosystem. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Phan Hien - Associate Dean of School of Business Information Technology, CTD - hoped that after the course, learners would gain useful knowledge on cyber security. He also expressed his appreciation to AGEST Viet Nam and Dr. Munehiro Shiratani for their enthusiasm in making the course happen at UEH.

On behalf of AGEST Viet Nam, Mr. Vuong Bao Long - Chief Operating Officer - also expressed his excitement with the first collaborated course between AGEST Vietnam and CTD. He shared that the course was financed by AGEST Japan, and that it was one of the programs encouraged by the Japanese government to support Japanese companies having business abroad in improving their information technology capacity. Through the course, he hoped that AGEST Vietnam would be able to help raise awareness about cyber security in Vietnam in general and at UEH specifically; especially in the context of increasing complex cyber attacks causing significant damage to organizations and businesses. Besides, AGEST Vietnam also expressed its desire to implement more cooperative activities towards sustainable development for the community with CTD and UEH in the future.

The Cyber Security Course, which marked the first cooperation activity between CTD and AGEST Vietnam, has brought valuable and practical knowledge to UEH lecturers, officials, and students to improve their cyber security skills. Besides the course, on May 18, 2024, AGEST Vietnam also sponsored and invited keynote speakers for the Seminar “System and Data Protection: The Safety Valve in Digital Transformation & Digital Economy” organized by UEH and the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association (HUBA). The seminar not only brought knowledge and practical solutions to organizations, businesses and individuals on cyber security and data security; but also created opportunities to connect leading industry experts and reputed scientists in related fields to expand the network of potential partnerships. In the near future, CTD and AGEST Vietnam intend to cooperate on more short-term courses, including Software Testing and Test Automation with a team of internationally reputed lecturers to improve professional capacity for learners.
