The international online workshop "Meet the Editor workshop: What do international academic journals look for?" at UEH

Attending the workshop were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Dean of School of Finance; Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong - Vice Dean of School of Finance; Dr. Le Dat Chi – Vice Dean of School of Finance; Prof.Dr. Tran Ngoc Tho - Lecturer of School of Finance with more than 50 domestic and foreign researchers, lecturers and postgraduates.

An overview of the workshop

The main lecturer at the workshop is Prof. Edward Lee, currently being the Professor of the Faculty of Accountants and Finance, Alliance Manchester School of Business, University of Manchester, UK. He is the co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Accounting and Business Studies. At the same time, he is the editor and member of the editorial boards of Asia-Pacific Economics and Accounting, British Accounting Journal, Chinese Accounting Studies Magazine, European Finance Magazine and Accounting Magazine European math. He has published many scholarly studies in prestigious journals.

With a rich record of achievements and experience as an editor for high-ranking magazines, at the workshop, Professor Edward Lee shared about the peer review process, the characteristics of quality scientific research, the different levels of contribution of scientific papers, and misconceptions about academic research. The workshop received many discussion questions and helpful contributions from the participants.

The workshop has helped scientists, lecturers and postgraduates have the opportunity to grasp new research trends, in accordance with the needs and tastes of magazines specializing in Finance and Accounting. Besides, this is also an opportunity for the Faculty of Finance in particular and UEH in general to connect with prestigious speakers in the world. In addition, the workshop is also a meaningful activity in conducting external quality accreditation of the Faculty of Finance in particular and UEH in general in the future.
