The Seminar on Digital Transformation in Banking and Finance for UEH Students

As part of a series of seminars on academic and applied scientific research in 2021, on April 3, 2021, at Hall B1.204 (Campus B - 279 Nguyen Tri Phuong), the School of Banking of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) held a seminar with the topic "Corporate finance - New value chain financing concept and digital elements". The program has created a forum for students to exchange and learn practical experiences.
Digital banking is a relatively developed field recently and is expected to grow strongly in the future. This has posed many challenges and requirements for UEH students to hone necessary skills, master specialized knowledge, understand how to apply in practice and keep up with the trend of the economy - society. 
In that context, on April 3, 2021, at Hall B1.204, Campus 279 Nguyen Tri Phuong, there was a seminar on "Corporate finance - New value chain financing concept and digital elements."
Attending the seminar, on the guest side, there was Mr. Tran Hoai Phuong - Manager of HD Bank's Corporate Customer Department as the speaker. On the side of UEH, there were the lecturers of the School of Banking and a large number of students who share a common interest. 
At the seminar, Mr. Tran Hoai Phuong delivered an in-depth presentation on Supply Chain Finance for corporate customers, with practical examples at HD Bank. He emphasized and shared the real situations of chain financing at HD Bank, risks and challenges for the Digital Banking trend in Banking activities in general, and international trade sponsorship activities in particular.
Banks in Vietnam are making continuous efforts in the race of transforming to follow the digital banking trend with the hope of gaining a competitive advantage and capturing a larger market share in the market. Digital transformation is expected to change the way banks are managed into a leaner, more innovative and more modern business model. However, he stated: "Although digital transformation in banking is a growing trend, digital banking in chain finance is still in the early stage of the 4.0 industrial revolution".

Students and teachers attentively attended the seminar.
The seminar opened up opportunities for the students to strengthen their knowledge in class. At the same time, they can get closer to their majors and fields, as well as understand how to apply them in reality. Consequently, students will no longer feel ambiguous with the knowledge and information that teachers teach them in the lecture halls.
In addition, the value of the seminar not only stops at learning more specialized knowledge but also helps students learn presentation skills, communication skills... in a professional working environment.
