The Story of Giving #3: Mooncakes for “love”

Autumn August, the month of the late summer rains just passing through the window, the month of the emotional region calling to the place "small village, alley, my house is there", the place of memories of childhood, humming the song "the star lamp, the bright five-pointed star", which brought with it both crispy laughter and the rhythm of the drums "tung dinh dinh cac tung dinh dinh."

Are there your familiar images in a sky of memories? In those moments, in a month, the Mid-Autumn Festival, the children's festival, and the festival of fullness will be like the full moon. Colorful lanterns and mixed mooncakes filled with green beans have also begun to be displayed. Have you ever enjoyed a mooncake filled with "love"?

Mid-Autumn Festival at UEH is very simple, wearing a volunteer blue shirt and a passionate heart, we carry on our luggage of knowledge, warm gifts, and moon cakes filled with love to come to disadvantaged children in remote areas. The light of the country road is fully lit by the youth of UEH.

Remembering the Happy Full Moon Festival in Mang Thit District, Vinh Long Province that year, after more than a month of preparation, we were on our way to this place. The locals eagerly awaited us early. In the middle of the hot afternoon, UEH soldiers were busy preparing folk games, decorating the stage with their own hands, and meticulously wrapping meaningful gifts for children. With the money from the fundraising sales and the great support from the sponsors, the youth of UEH seems to be on fire, gaining strength and spreading love. More than 10,000 gifts are given each year, more than 1000 family situations are helped, and many youth projects are born.

More meaningful community projects that UEH wishes to bring in the future cultivate long-term positive values, for example, the UEH Global Learning project – a free digital transformation support project for high schools in disadvantaged provinces. Joining hands is strong, which together with UEH gives wings to generations of knowledge to reach out for a sustainable future and a better life.
