The university council decided to restructure UEH into a multidisciplinary university with three-member schools: School of Business; School of Economics, Law and State Management; School of Technology and Design

According to the new Education Law, the university council is responsible for deciding on strategic issues on development strategies and plans; organizational apparatus, personnel; Regulation; direction of enrollment, opening industry, training, joint training, science and technology activities, international cooperation, etc

To develop the role, in the 5th session, the University Council of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) term 2020 - 2025 discussed and resolved many important issues in the governance and operations of the university. Especially the approval of the Project of restructuring the University of Economics in Ho Chi Minh City to become a multidisciplinary university with 3 member schools in the period of 2021-2025: School of Business; School of Economics, Law and State Management; School of Technology and Design.

Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - President of the UEH University Council, shared: This project has a paramount strategic significance for UEH in the term 2020 - 2025. Firstly, the single-disciplinary school will no longer be suitable, not ensuring sustainable development for the future. Secondly, the multidisciplinary development of UEH will promote its advantages in training, research and social service in the current context when most major research projects are multidisciplinary. Thirdly, it will facilitate the university to participate in the rankings, international cooperation activities with worldwide universities.

With positive contributions and high consensus, the members of the University Council are determined to restructure UEH into a multidisciplinary university to serve the country's socio-economic development in training, research and development consulting; at the same time aiming to increase the direct social influence and build a regional and international reputation.
