Training for UEH Union Officials 2024

On February 23 and 24, 2024, UEH Union implemented a training plan for union units’ officials for the term 2023 - 2025 with the theme "Be unanimous and creative with Multidisciplinary and Sustainable UEH" in Vung Tau.

The training program for UEH Union officials 2024 was organized with the aim of equipping basic knowledge regarding union activities to improve the operational capacity of union officials; at the same time, raising awareness and responsibilities of unions about the multidisciplinary and sustainable UEH University model, contributing to building a strong grassroots union according to the Resolution of the 16th UEH Union Congress, term 2023 - 2028.

The main training content includes a Report on the organization and activities of grassroots trade unions and the skills of union officials; Laws on implementing democracy at the grassroots level and responsibilities of grassroots unions in implementing democracy at the grassroots level; a Report on Multidisciplinary and Sustainable UEH University Development Strategies; and Teambuilding with the theme "Suggestions" and "Unanimity".

Overview of the training session

Attending the program, on behalf of Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labor, there was the presence of Comrade Truong Hong Son - Member of the Inspection Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labor; Comrade Huynh Cong Ba - Deputy Head of Education and Training Personnel Department - Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labor.

On behalf of UEH, there was the presence of Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - University Director; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Deputy Director of the University; Prof.Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Deputy Director of the University; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of the Strategy and Policy Advisory Council; Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Chairman of UEH Union; with the participation of unit leaders and 85 UEH Union officials.

Speaking at the opening of the training program, Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Chairman of UEH Union - shared "The training program for UEH Union officials 2024 is organized with the purpose of helping union officials visualize their positions, roles, functions, and tasks at union units. In addition to the Regulations of the Vietnam Union Organization, union officials also agree with the development and strategy of the University, especially in the period of transformation into a Multidisciplinary and Sustainable UEH University. Through this training, the Union Executive Committee hopes that union officials will have a deeper understanding of their organization, better understand the University and together build the increasingly sustainable development Union in general and UEH in particular in the future".

Representing the Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labor, Comrade Truong Hong Sonpresented a report with contents on the organization and activities of grassroots unions, skills of union officials; laws on implementing democracy at the grassroots, and the responsibilities of grassroots unions in implementing democracy at the grassroots helping improve the knowledge and skills of UEH Union officials in applying knowledge to more practical union activities.

With the desire to raise awareness and responsibilities of the union organization about the Multidisciplinary and Sustainable UEH University model for UEH Union officials, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Deputy Director of UEH – stated the Multidisciplinary and Sustainable UEH University Development Strategies as well as the important role of the UEH Union and member units in the process of implementing goals and strategies in the "Sustainable UEH University until 2030" project.

Following the program, there are teambuilding activities with the themes "Suggestion" and "Unanimity". The "Suggestion" challenge helped UEHer participate in consolidating the orientations and strategies of Multidisciplinary and Sustainable UEH University for the period 2024 - 2030 and together propose more feasible solutions to implement the university's strategy in the near future. The "Unanimity" challenge helped strengthen cohesion and understanding among union officials. With solidarity and mutual understanding among union officials, the activity took place successfully.

The training program for UEH Union officials 2024 with the theme "Be unanimous and creative with Multidisciplinary and Sustainable UEH" closed with the hope that the spirit of solidarity, consensus, creativity, and bold change will help UEH Union officials continue to perform well the roles and responsibilities of the grassroots union, contributing to the multidisciplinary and sustainable development of UEH University in the period 2024 - 2030.
