UEH accompanying Deloitte Vietnam and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the next stage of “Light Up Your Future (LUYF) Scholarship Fund”

University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), as a key public university in Vietnam, always commits make efforts to contribute to future generations, education, and society for a better and sustainable future. With practical actions, UEH will accompany Deloitte Vietnam and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the next stage of the Light Up Your Future Scholarship Fund in 2022 to spread, connect, and light up dreams.

With the belief that “education is the key to sustainable development”, along with the role and responsibility of a key public university in Vietnam, UEH has been constantly making efforts to bring the opportunity to experience knowledge for each future generation.

Performing its social responsibility, every year, UEH always gives students scholarship policies to encourage them to strive constantly and confidently assert themselves. In the past 2.5 years, UEH has awarded: more than 6,029 “Study Encouragement” scholarships worth more than 66.5 billion VND; 3,280 "Study Support" scholarships worth more than VND 19.8 billion to students with difficult circumstances to help them overcome adversity, keep their spirits up, and continue on the learning path; 1,118 “Enrollment” scholarships with a value of nearly VND 8.4 billion for new students who have been admitted to a regular university with high admission results in recognition of their continuous efforts during their studies as well as in their high school graduation exam; 598 “Corporate Sponsorships” scholarships with a value of nearly 5.4 billion VND to students with excellent achievements or difficult circumstances.

In addition to providing learning opportunities and intellectual experiences for learners at the university, UEH wishes to spread these good values to the student community across the country. Therefore, in 2022, UEH will accompany Deloitte Vietnam and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the next stage of the "Light Up Your Future (LUYF) Scholarship Fund" with a mission to give confidence and inspire the young generation to have the will to overcome difficulties to achieve success. Specifically, UEH will sponsor scholarships for the LUYF Foundation and implement UEH training programs to help students integrate well, understand themselves, have skills to adapt to the working environment and develop themselves for happiness and success; support facilities, locations for activities of LUYF.

The objectives of the benefits of the Light Up Your Future Scholarship Fund Season 10 are freshmen, sophormore and junior students across the country, belonging to the groups of Economics, Finance, Law, Information Technology, Medicine & Pharmacy, and Pedagogy. In particular, priority is given to students with difficult circumstances and achievements in study and/or community and social activities; students having ideas about community-oriented start-up/non-profit projects, and disabled students across the country belong to the DRD network of the disabled.

By accompanying LUYF, UEH wishes to give students the opportunity to light up and pursue their career dreams, toward building a bright future and support them to develop knowledge and skills to contribute to the creation of human resources with professional capacity and solid skills to meet the needs of the increasingly competitive labor market. Most of all, they sow the seeds of kindness in the hearts of the young generation so that they can become ambassadors of influence and motivation for students with difficult circumstances.

Officially introduced in 2020, the Deloitte Global WorldClass initiative aims to positively impact 100 million people in 10 years (to 2030) through the application of core skills, experiences, and global networks to spread and help younger generations through education, skills development, and ways to access career opportunities. In line with this initiative, the Light Up Your Future Scholarship Fund was established in 2012 co-founded by Deloitte and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). The year 2022 marks the 10^th anniversary of LUYF's birth with the mission of giving trust and inspiring the young generation with the will to overcome difficulties to achieve success.

With these practical meanings and values, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City has become a companion with the Light Up Your Future Scholarship Fund season 10 to increase the intellectual resources to support students, as well as spread the Foundation's positive values, and contribute to education and society for a sustainable future.
