UEH attended the 3rd Asian Port-City University Conference “3rd Port-City Universities Summit-PUS2019” and exchanged cooperation with AURAK University, Incheon National University, Korea

The 3rd Port-City Universities Summit-PUS 2019 is held from November 6 to 8, 2019, at AURAK (American University of Ras Al Khaimah) of the Emirate United Arab Emirates - UAE.

Attending PUS2019, on the UEH side, there were Prof.Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Vice President and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Thanh Trang - Head of Department of International Business - Marketing.At the Conference, the researchers exchanged topics including  "Trends, trends and challenges of seaports and coastal cities "; " Creativity and cooperation between the port industry and universities "; "Changes in port management practices in a new trend. " One of the important topics to focus on is the development of a seaport system that must be considered the " Business Ecosystem," covering all elements: infrastructure, tourism, logistics. , transport and university human resource training, and research roles.

The UEH delegation participated in the discussion and contributed ideas to the topic session "Innovation and University-Industry Cooperation in Ports". In this discussion, the conclusive ideas for universities were to closely connect with the Triple Heplix model (government-enterprise-university to facilitate the development of human resources for industries. Port related to logistics, supply chain. Regarding the management of the port industry and related industries such as logistics, the supply chain in the direction of sustainable development needs to integrate factors such as digitalization, globalization, energy transition, and urbanization. This is an up-to-date source of useful information for the Logistics and Supply Chain Management training program.

Researchers at the Conference also shared how to rank universities according to the new trend (World's Universities with Real Impact-WURI). This ranking focuses on three basic criteria " environmental adaptation ", "entrepreneurship," and " moral values ".

PUS 2019 also creates many opportunities for universities to participate in building a connection system for academic exchange and research collaboration. UEH delegation exchanged and agreed with the President and Head of the Faculty of Business of AURAK University about the student exchange cooperation program; worked with the President and Head of the Graduate School of Logistics School, Incheon National University (Korea) on a 2 + 2 double training agreement for Logistics and International Business.
