UEH deploys the UEH Student App and electronic student card on smartphones for learners

The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) officially deployed the UEH Student App that integrates electronic student cards on smartphones for learners at UEH. This is one of UEH's pioneering strategies of innovation and application of technology in training and administration activities to meet the development requirements of society in the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution.

Launching UEH Student - An application that increases convenience for learners

In order to increase the convenience in the process of learning, research and training of learners, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City has researched and deployed the UEH Student App on smart mobile phones (referred to as App), now available on both App Store and Google Play platforms.

The electronic student card on the App is valid as the plastic student card being in force. Therefore, learners can use the electronic student cards in UEH's internal activities such as accessing control, studying, announcing news, examination, library, dormitory, activities of the Student Union - Association, UEH guidance system and other utilities. In particular, all operations will be performed quickly on mobile phones to optimize time for learners.

Thus, from August 1, 2021, newly admitted courses of all levels and training systems will only use electronic student cards in internal transactions. UEH only prints plastic student cards for course 47 of formal universities and other students upon request.

Therefore, the University hopes that learners will pay attention to and use the App and the Student Card right from this 2021 school year.”

In addition to the feature of a student card, the UEH Student App also integrates many services, managing students' activities and training during their study process at the University.

Smart attendance checking:

One of the greatest advantages of UEH Student is its ability to check students' attendance smartly, optimizing time and eliminating fraud cases. Instead of wasting time scanning plastic card barcodes and having to spend time verifying barcodes with the right people, UEH learners can now perform "check-in" quickly by scanning the barcode, scanning the QR code shown on the classroom slide or pasted in the activity area. Compared to the traditional plastic student card attendance method that takes 60 minutes to verify 1000 students, the UEH Student App only takes 30 seconds.

Optimize time with smart attendance via UEH Student

Provide and store information for students:

UEH Students are provided a full range of important UEH news and events to learners. The App stores student account information such as timetable, exam schedule, scores... to help students easily look up and be updated. Even the UEH Union - Association activities will also be announced so that students will not miss any information.

In addition, the UEH Way finding feature will help learners quickly find their way to UEH locations and facilities such as rooms, departments, libraries, classrooms ...

UEH students can completely control all schedules, class schedules, study results or information about ongoing activities at UEH thanks to the App's reminders.

Optimizing the operation of facilities

Instead of presenting a student card in a time-consuming way like before, students now only need to scan a QR code or Barcode in a few seconds to enter the library or enter the classrooms and meeting rooms of UEH through the app on their phone. In addition, UEH has deployed the UEH Smart Lock System through the Internet of Things application; the decentralized unlocking integrates the university's information system and Bluetooth wave.

Previously, in December 2020, the university implemented a photocopying and printing system that uses integrated employee and student cards to identify and perform operations. With this UEH Student App, learners will no longer need to use a card and can even purchase an automatic package. In addition, the App also integrates other convenient features for users, such as placing a washing machine and dryer in the dormitory...

To optimize all services for officials and learners, avoiding using plastic student cards, UEH Student is gradually perfecting and developing more features in the future, such as integration with digital banks to make payments for UEH's services through the phone App, scan QR codes or even withdraw cash without using an ATM card.
