To provide timely support and stand in solidarity with students in regions affected by typhoons, floods, and natural disasters, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has announced an expansion of regions eligible for its disaster relief support program, reinforcing key policies: tuition fee reduction, financial aid scholarships, tuition fee payment deadline extensions, and a study loan program.

Expanding policy support for students in 5 provinces affected by storms and floods
In early October 2025, following the severe impact of Typhoon Bualoi (Storm No. 10) in the Northern and North Central regions, UEH implemented a support program for students in 19 affected provinces and cities, including: Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Ninh Binh, Hue, Son La, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Hanoi, Hai Phong City, Hung Yen, and Da Nang City.
The university's support policies for students affected by the disaster included:
(1) A 10% tuition fee reduction for the Final Semester of 2025.
(2) Provision of financial aid scholarships.
(3) An extension of the tuition fee payment deadline for the First Semester of 2026.
(4) A study loan program.
In November 2025, the Central and South Central regions continued to face severe impacts from a series of subsequent storms (No. 11, 12, and 13). In response, UEH has extended its support policies to an additional 5 provinces: Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, and Lam Dong.
Tuition fee reduction and extended payment deadline for students in affected provinces
Similar to the support provided to students from the initial 19 provinces, full-time undergraduate students from the 48th, 49th, 50th, and 51st cohorts with permanent residence in the 5 newly added provinces (Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, and Lam Dong) will receive a 10% tuition fee reduction for the Final Semester of 2025. This reduction will be deducted from the tuition fee for the First Semester of 2026. For graduating students of the 48th Intake, the support amount will be directly transferred to their bank accounts.
Furthermore, to alleviate financial pressure on students and their families in all 24 affected provinces, UEH has further extended the tuition fee payment deadline for the First Semester of 2026 until January 25, 2026 (a longer extension than the previous support policy).
100 additional scholarships and extending payment deadlines to support students in 24 affected provinces/cities
UEH will award an additional 100 scholarships with a total value of over 1.35 billion VND. This includes 70 scholarships worth over 14 million VND each for full-time undergraduate students (from 48th to 51st cohorts) and 30 scholarships worth 12 million VND each for students in university transfer, first-degree, and transfer - part-time programs.
Eligibility criteria for these scholarships are as follows:
- Students from families facing financial hardship due to the impact of storms and floods.
- Have not received another scholarship of equivalent value or a previous disaster relief scholarship from UEH.
- Have not been subject to disciplinary action at the reprimand level or higher during the scholarship review semester.
Application instructions:
- Step 1: Students complete their application and register online at the UEH Student Portal (https://student.ueh.edu.vn/ ) from November 25 to December 5, 2025.
- Step 2: Submit hard-copy documents to the Department of Student Affairs (at Campus B - Room B1.111, 279 Nguyen Tri Phuong, Dien Hong Ward) from December 10 to 12, 2025, for scholarship consideration.
Study loan program with interest support from UEH
In addition to the above policies, students facing difficulties with tuition payments can apply for the Study loan program for the First Semester of 2026, which is offered in two forms:
- Tuition fee loan program with Orient Commercial Joint Stock Bank (OCB): This program allows full-time undergraduate students to borrow for up to 6 months at an interest rate of 7.5% per year, with interest payment support policy from UEH. More details are available here.
- Installment payment program via Sacombank credit card: Available to learners of all levels and systems at UEH with 0% interest. More details are available here.
Through two phases of disaster relief, UEH has provided support to 11,262 students across 24 provinces and cities affected by the 2025 disasters, with a total estimated resource allocation of nearly 23 billion VND. These timely policies are a testament to the enduring tradition of standing by its students that UEH has upheld for nearly half a century.
