20 Nov, 2023

UEH is committed to creating a fair, diverse, inclusive learning and working environment by establishing individuals or units focused on diversity and equality. These individuals and units support and implement policies and training programs on campus diversity, inclusion, and human rights. In this way, UEH fosters an academic community where everyone has the opportunity to develop, contribute, and be respected, promoting equality and social cohesion.

UEH implements policies that empower women to achieve gender equality and promote sustainable development.

The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has fostered a positive mindset regarding gender equality and has launched important strategies to improve women's empowerment. Recognizing that sustainable development in both the university and society relies on promoting equality—especially gender equality—UEH focuses on the role of female staff and workers, who make significant contributions to the university's growth. For UEH, gender equality is integral not only in research, teaching, and work but also suitable with the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). In the fields of culture, sports, and arts, gender equality removes barriers, challenges stereotypes, and celebrates women's capabilities, acknowledging their contributions across all areas at UEH.

The multicultural integration function of DSA

The multicultural integration function of the Department of Student Affairs (DSA) at UEH aims to build a cohesive and culturally diverse student community. Through cultural exchange programs, support for international students' integration, and encouragement for Vietnamese students to explore, DSA creates an abundant learning and experiential environment. These activities help students adapt and respect differences and equip them with essential skills for success in a global setting. Programs like Vietnam-Japan and Vietnam-Thailand cultural exchanges are promoted by UEH to improve students' understanding of various cultures and foster global integration. Additionally, workshops and discussions on culture and language are organized to create an increasingly dynamic and inclusive environment.

Anti-Discrimination

The Department of Student Affairs (DSA) at UEH is committed to anti-discrimination and ensuring a fair learning environment where every student is respected and has the opportunity to develop. DSA implements policies to protect student rights, organizes awareness programs on equality, and takes strict action against discriminatory behavior. By building an inclusive and safe community, DSA reinforces the value of diversity and promotes solidarity among students, aiming for a civilized and progressive learning environment. DSA has introduced numerous programs focused on combating racism and reducing cultural biases, helping students appreciate and respect differences. These initiatives foster mutual respect within the academic community. The DSA programs provide knowledge about anti-racism and culture and create opportunities for students to engage in practical activities, interact, and exchange ideas with international peers. As a result, UEH students can broaden their perspectives, develop cross-cultural communication skills, and be prepared to adapt in a globalized environment.
