In his main presentation titled “Publishing Research in Top Academic Journals,” Prof. Nguyen Duy Bach provided a systematic overview of the international publication process - from generating research ideas and identifying meaningful research questions, to building a publication-worthy manuscript and selecting the right journal. He also offered in-depth analysis of the rigor required in research methodology, how to position academic contributions, and effective strategies for responding to reviewer comments in high-ranking international journals. These insights helped attendees better understand international academic standards and the key factors that determine a manuscript’s acceptance.

Continuing the program, Prof. Nguyen Duy Bach led an interactive session titled “From Research Ideas to Publication Strategy,” covering key topics including: developing research ideas into publishable study designs; strengthening theoretical contributions to meet the requirements of high-impact journals; guiding appropriate journal selection based on research themes; and identifying and addressing common weaknesses in manuscripts. Through a systematic approach grounded in real-world international publication experience, the speaker provided clear directions and practical tools to improve research quality and increase the likelihood of acceptance in prestigious academic journals.

Following Prof. Nguyen Duy Bach’s presentation, an interactive session moderated by Dr. Truong Thi Hoang Oanh - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, UEH Mekong - provided an opportunity for faculty and researchers to present their actual research projects and receive direct feedback from Prof. Nguyen Duy Bach. “A Talk with Bach” Program - Inspiring Students

As part of the program, Prof. Nguyen Duy Bach also held an inspirational sharing session for students with a friendly and highly interactive approach. Through a simple simulation of “designing an ideal weekend” under changing resource conditions, Prof. Bach helped students gain different perspectives in action-oriented thinking - one based on planning and forecasting, and another based on leveraging available resources, adapting flexibly, and learning through action.

From this, Prof. Bach conveyed the message that in the context of great uncertainty, starting from what is available, being willing to experiment, collaborate, and embrace mistakes can open up more opportunities than waiting for a perfect plan. This approach is not only meaningful in entrepreneurship but is also especially relevant to students’ journeys of learning, research, and career development in today’s rapidly changing environment.
