UEH Mentoring Program season 06 (2020 - 2021) officially started

Attending the event, there was Mr. Pham Huy Phong - General Manager of Mainetti Vietnam, currently an expert in international trade, supply and production chain with 15 years of experience in foreign corporations namely Mainetti, Asia Silk Road; Ms. Nguyen Hoang Yen - Senior Director of Transformational Learning Center of Manulife University, over 17 years of experience in the fields of sales, management, management training,... with Executive Board members, the organizers of Mentoring program, mentors and more than 283 new mentees in season 6..

An overview of the introduction of UEH Mentoring program season 6

Opening the Kick Off session, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thang proposed a vote of thanks to the school - Represented by the Alumni Liaison Board of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH Alumni), along with the Support Team and Core Team members, who have supported the program to organize activities over the past time.

Attending the program, Mentees will be trained their self-confidence, self-study spirit and skills, discipline and especially "networking" harvested after a year of engaging in exchanging, learning and actual practicing activities.

At UEH Mentoring, mentors are not teachers, but motivators and inspirators so that mentees can dare to cherish and conquer big dreams; be a person who shares and suggests different solutions and methods to help students confidently solve problems in work and life. After 05 years being the mentor of the program, Ms. Nguyen Hoang Yen shared that her happiness is to see her Mentee become better every day. To her, each of them is very special, has their own personality, own values and own operating system, her job is to enable their operating system to run better. She deeply respects the unique strengths and points of each of them.

Answering the question: "Have there been mentors in your life, and how do your mentors affect you?", Ms Yen shared: "In my time there were no mentors, for me each person I met in my life can be my mentor and my mentee can be my mentor. Every person you meet is a mirror that reflects you”.

At the Kick Off session, Mr. Pham Huy Phong shared more about the personal development process of Hoang Phuong Lam, his first Mentee (2018), helping the students better visualize the following change after 01 year being a companion with the program.

Representing the mentees, My Hue shared the journey to become MT Pepsico with the companionship of Mr. Kien - her Mentor, who supported her in the process of finding her right job field. Now, with the maturity and the relationships, lessons learned from the program, My Hue hopes to have the opportunity to continue sharing her story with next season mentees.

In addition, student Minh Tuyen also brought the story of her process of preparing for the scholarship interview season 05 and her feelings as becoming 1 in 8 mentees received a 10 million scholarship from the program. The scholarship has helped Tuyen overcome difficulties in learning and personal development.

Kick Off session creates an open interactive space, helps mentees and mentors have the opportunity to support and advise students, promising a successful Mentoring season.

UEH Mentoring is a program sponsored by the UEH Alumni and the support of Your Study Support, launched in 2016, aims to help students have a good view of career, and also gain the necessary experience to develop oneself. Thereby creating a positive environment between Mentors and Mentees, with exciting and practical activities, bring knowledge, skills and practical experience to the studens. At the same time, UEH Mentoring creates opportunities for alumni to fulfill their wishes of connecting and accompanying students.
