University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City is currently conducting an internationalization strategy of all its activities relating to training, scientific research and university administration, with training being a key mission of the university.
The UEH internationalization program was conducted early with focus on three major points:
(1) Established 15 joint programs in cooperation with international partners from the USA, Australia and Europe have been implemented by UEH since 1994.
(2) Established the International School of Business (ISB) since 2009 in which all courses and academic programs are conducted in English according to international standards.
(3) Developed UEH’s international advanced curriculum for postgraduate programs since 2015 and for undergraduate programs since 2016. International advanced curriculums are designed in accordance with methodologies and academic programs from top 100 (postgraduate level) and top 200 (undergraduate level) prestigious international universities.
International programs are all quality-assured in compliance with international regulations and quality assurance by prestigious independent quality accreditation organizations, from Vietnam and overseas. UEH conducts quality accreditation for the academic programs according to regional and international standards under these aims:
(1) Improve service quality in providing UEH academic programs to guarantee the learner and recruiter’s rights as well as that of other involving partners towards the aim of training a highly qualified workforce.
(2) Ensure the interconnection among international partners, create a variety of choices for learners in following UEH education programs.
(3) Establish top academic reputation with other lading universities to expand the cooperation in training and research, in order to enhance mutual recognition.
Currently, there have been 8 international universities signing MOU in acknowledging the 2+2 program (articulation) of UEH..
With the restless spirit towards quality improvement, UEH academic programs focus on knowledge, business thinking and other skills; training global citizens in preparation for the upcoming challenges of the world and business environment worldwide according to leading university standards and international quality. To achieve this goal, UEH cooperates with many academic partners all over the world and multinational entrepreneurs in Vietnam to conduct training using the scientific design of Problem Solving for Organization (solving issues relating to entrepreneurial organizations by utilizing the triangle of entrepreneurial organization – lecturer – student in today’s globalized context).
Therefore, based on the survey results from 2017 graduated UEH students, the number of employed students within the first 3-6 months reaches the average rate of return of 93.42%; among which, 97% of employed students are from Business and Commerce, and Accounting majors; 92% of employed students are from Banking – Finance, International Business and Marketing majors; and 90% are from Economy and Business Administration majors.
With incredible effort, the international advanced curriculum has contributed in achieving UEH mission of catching up new trends in global business administration of international companies. The program is designed to closely follow the core ideas and focus on conducting UEH internationalization strategy. The collaboration between UEH and other entrepreneurs as well as organizations will create a great positive impact towards shaping the development of academic programs and bringing advantages to the profile of UEH students taking part in this program.
With incredible effort, the international advanced curriculum has contributed in achieving UEH mission of catching up new trends in global business administration of international companies. The program is designed to closely follow the core ideas and focus on conducting UEH internationalization strategy. The collaboration between UEH and other entrepreneurs as well as organizations will create a great positive impact towards shaping the development of academic programs and bringing advantages to the profile of UEH students taking part in this program.
