UEH Welcomes New Year with a Modern, Sustainable Campus for the New Academic Year 2023

Amid the excitement of the upcoming spring and the start of the 2023 academic year, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has invested in construction, renovation, and upgrades across its campuses, unveiling a modern and welcoming new look. All new UEH facilities have been designed and built following international sustainability standards, focusing on energy efficiency, water management, and waste treatment. These initiatives help reduce carbon emissions and create a green, friendly, and sustainable learning environment for students. All UEH campuse carry out the reconstruction strategy in accordance with the international Green Metrics standards for green universities.

Campus E (54 Nguyễn Văn Thủ, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) was officially reopened after extensive renovations and upgrades. The number of classrooms has increased from 20 to 27, with all furniture replaced and new hybrid teaching equipment installed to better serve students and faculty. Additionally, faculty lounges were built, and the elevator system has been regularly maintained and inspected for safety. With a total construction area of 2,728 m² and a campus area of 485.7 m², Campus E of UEH is fully equipped to support the teaching needs of all educational levels and programs offered by UEH.

At the Green Campus N (Function Zone No. 15, New South City, Phong Phu Commune, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City), UEH has added several public facilities to serve faculty and students. A new sports area has been opened, featuring a multi-purpose field and an artificial grass football pitch. These new facilities diversify the physical education options at UEH, including sports such as football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and golf. This expansion provides a convenient space for physical education activities, offering students various valuable learning and fitness opportunities.

Additionally, the buildings at the Nguyễn Văn Linh campus of UEH have been equipped with modern solar panels on the rooftops, effectively harnessing renewable energy. This is part of UEH's ongoing efforts to minimize its environmental impact and work towards sustainable development goals.

Campus Developments at UEH Vĩnh Long Branch

The UEH Vĩnh Long Branch has continued to invest in and upgrade its facilities, presenting a modern and well-equipped campus. The UEH Mekong Hotel, with 15 guest rooms and a green campus area, has been put into operation. The branch has also renovated its facilities, investing in 28 modern classrooms and upgrading the B Hall with a capacity of 200 seats. Additionally, 1 shared photocopier and 40 computer sets were transferred from the main campus, while the library has been connected to a shared database and e-books. The Wi-Fi system has been upgraded with high-speed broadband and extended to cover workspaces, classrooms, halls, and student dormitories. Moreover, the dormitory has been expanded to include 54 rooms (408 beds) along with laundry and drying machines.

UEH Mekong Hotel is put into operation

Since April 2022, D Building (196 Trần Quang Khải) has become one of the official training facilities for the International School of Business (ISB) at UEH. The building has a modern theme and features spacious, dynamic environments. The classrooms are equipped as smart rooms with full amenities, including 5 to 10 LCD screens in each room, allowing students to easily organize group activities, presentations, and discussions right within the classroom. This setup improves interaction during teaching sessions, whether hybrid or online. Additionally, there are two halls with a capacity of up to 100 students, where they can engage in self-study, discuss lessons, and network with each other. In the future, this space is expected to become a highly sought-after international-standard learning environment, offering a growing range of amenities to meet the educational and training needs of students.

Campus D with modern facility put into use

Located at 279 Nguyen Tri Phuong, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, UEH's Campus B, including Buildings B1 and B2, has modern architecture that harmonizes nature, offering spacious and airy surroundings. A new bridge connecting the two buildings has been completed, improving mobility and saving travel time. Additionally, UEH has added 4 new faculty rooms (B2-201, B2-209, B2-401, B2-409), all equipped with modern smart locks and modern.

At Campus A (59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu, District 3, HCMC), extensive renovations have given the facility a fresh, modern look. New facilities and amenities were added, such as elevators for easier access to different floors, smart locks on rooms and faculty offices, and new bathrooms for UEH staff. A professor's office (A.304) and a new faculty room (A.215) have been created to serve the academic community better.

Moreover, Campus H (1A Hoang Dieu, Phu Nhuan District, HCMC) has also contained several changes in the past year. In addition to the rebuilt exterior, several new working and teaching spaces have been developed to accommodate the growing demands of faculty and students. Notable additions include 2 new faculty rooms (H.105, H.405) with modern smart locks, a 70-seat auditorium (H.001), a meeting room (H.003), a conference room (H.407), a PhD candidate office (H.103), a thesis defense room (H.203), and the New Zealand Program room (H.301), the library (H.305), the lab room (H.302), and six new (H.302) classrooms (H.101, H.104, H.201, H.204, H.402, H.403).

These improvements mark significant achievements and efforts by the entire UEH community. They are evidence of the university's strategic breakthroughs in autonomy and growth in recent years.

As UEH welcomes the year of Gui Mao 2023 with fresh energy and aspirations, the university is determined to become a multi-disciplinary, sustainable institution with academic excellence recognized across Asia.
