UEH Welcomes the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and the Secretary of the Guiyang Municipal Party Committee, China

On November 25, 2024, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) solemnly hosted a reception for a high-level delegation from China, including the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and the Secretary of the Guiyang Municipal Party Committee. The reception opened up new opportunities for cooperation between the two sides in the fields of education, scientific research and sustainable development.

Attending the session at UEH, on the side behalf of the delegation from China, there was Mr. Ho Trung Hung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Guiyang Municipal Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the New Gui'an District; leaders of the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee ; along with representatives of departments and agencies of Guizhou Province and Guiyang City.

On behalf of the UEH side, the event was attended by Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - University President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - Deputy Head of the Department of Research - Development and Global Engagement and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duong Phuong Thao, Deputy Head of the Department of Research - Development and Global Engagement.

At the reception, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH - emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation between educational institutions and local authorities, especially in the context that University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City takes internationalization and cooperation for sustainable development as the driving force for its education improvement, Connecting with Guizhou province and Guiyang city, China is a beneficial opportunity for UEH and the locality to develop cooperation activities in research, training or cultural promotion.

Thanking UEH for the warm welcome, Mr. Ho Trung Hung - Secretary of the Guiyang City Party Committee - affirmed his desire to build a deep cooperation with UEH in these proposed activities. He emphasized: "We are absolutely impressed with UEH's capacity and strategic vision. Hopefully, the relationship between Guizhou Province and UEH will continue to develop, creating more values for the community. "

Within the framework of the reception, UEH and Guizhou Province discussed and agreed on the main contents for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UEH and Guizhou University in the upcoming time. This will be the foundation for implementing specific cooperation activities, bringing practical benefits to both sides.

1. Scientific research cooperation in joint research projects, focusing on the fields of economics, management and sustainable development. In particular, Guizhou Province is interested in learning the circular economy model and applying technology in urban management -– those areas that UEH occupies research strengths.

2. Training and human resource exchange: UEH and Guizhou Province have proposed student and faculty exchange programs , as well as organizing bilateral scientific conferences. The partners expressed their desire to send students from Guizhou to study at UEH under joint training and scholarship programs.

3. Promoting culture and local development: In addition to specialized fields, the two sides also emphasized the importance of cultural exchanges to enhance understanding and connection between Vietnam and China.
