Prof. Trinh Tu Anh - Director of the Institute of Smart City and Management (UEH-CTD); Dr. Nguyen Ba Son - Training Program Director of Master Management of Technology; Dr. Do Tri Cuong - Training Program Director of Intelligent Control and Automation (Engineering Degree), and participation of lecturers from the Institute of Intelligent and Interaction Technologies.
During the working session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung emphasized that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) represents a strategic partnership in education, research, and community engagement, with a strong focus on enhancing student capacity and expanding international connectivity. Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to developing student exchange programs, fostering global competencies, and promoting innovation within the university ecosystem. On this occasion, UEH representatives also introduced key training orientations at UEH Nexus Campus Nha Trang, particularly in areas aligned with the strengths of Khanh Hoa Province and the region’s development potential, including the sustainable marine economy, marine spatial planning, ocean technology, and international collaborative research and training programs in oceanography and sustainable development. These initiatives form part of UEH’s strategy to cultivate high-quality human resources and advance applied research to meet local, national, and global socio-economic development needs.

Professor Fan Chia-Ming, representing National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU), highlighted the university’s strengths in education and scientific research, particularly in the fields of marine science, maritime technology, and sustainable development. With modern facilities and an extensive international cooperation network, NTOU expressed its strong interest in enhancing collaboration with UEH through academic and student exchange programs. Furthermore, NTOU affirmed its readiness to welcome UEH students to study and gain experience in an international academic environment, thereby further strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two universities.

During the working session, representatives from UEH’s schools and institutes, including School of International Business – Marketing, Institute of Smart Cities and Management, and the Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technologies engaged in discussions with counterparts from NTOU on potential areas of collaboration in education and research. The discussions focused on technology, smart cities, management, and maritime logistics - key strengths of NTOU and priority fields planned for implementation at UEH Nexus Campus Nha Trang in the near future. These exchanges opened up numerous opportunities for substantive cooperation, contributing to the development of practice-oriented training programs that respond to the needs of the maritime economy and smart city development in the context of international integration.

In addition to collaborative discussions, the program also featured a research seminar on “Renewable Energy, Robotics & AI,” along with cultural exchange activities between faculty members and students of NTOU and UEH. During the seminar, students had the opportunity to engage with in-depth presentations from lecturers of both universities, drawing on practical perspectives, research experience, and academic development orientations in cutting-edge technology fields. The exchange not only broadened students’ knowledge and research perspectives but also strengthened academic connections between faculty and students from both institutions. It further laid a solid foundation for future research collaboration, supported students’ career orientation, and opened up potential internship opportunities in the near future.

Concluding the working session, NTOU and UEH leadership are expected to generate significant practical outcomes in the future. Through this engagement, UEH will have enhanced opportunities for collaboration in research and knowledge transfer in cutting-edge technology fields, while further promoting international cooperation in interdisciplinary education, research, and innovation. These efforts will not only lay a solid foundation for the development of joint research projects but also contribute to strengthening academic capacity, expanding UEH’s global partnership network, and increasing opportunities for lecturers and students to engage with emerging technological trends in the context of digital transformation and sustainable development.
